I've always considered Advanced Wars to be a very grimdark game. despite the fact that the colors were bright and cheery, the fact that you are sending hundreds of soldiers to their death that will not be remembered in the slightest a few minutes later always struck me as very grimdark. anyways with my C&C army decimated with no real way to repair them I'm thinking of re-inventing my IG army as a AW army. I just don't know weather I should just rebuild the C&C army or re make it as an AW army, it's all the same crunch wise to me, but I'd like to know what dakka thinks before I decide what aesthetic style to use.

You seem to make a lot of armies. But anyways, I'd suggest remaking it as a Battalion Wars army. It would be awesome to see an Xylvanian or Western Frontier army done up properly.

I really only have three armies, (well two currently with my Adamas broken) I just have things I swap out to make them different armies.

I think an Advanced Wars themed army would be pretty awesome, which AW army were you thinking of making? I personally think a Blue Moon army with maybe a converted HQ as Grit with some basilisks would be pretty cool to look at.

that does sound cool, and I was thinking of making either a Blue Moon army, a Xylvanian army, or a Tundran Territories army, but I may be able to mix and match with the army fluff I'm thinking of. here's a preview:
on the world of Comadus war has become a spectator sport. vast factories owned by the planet's noble houses produce vat grown soldiers in their thousands. all to be sent out to fight and die to the sound of applause from the sector's decadent nobles who pay large sums to watch the spectacle of war. the soldiers are considered nothing better than pieces on a game board, and only their highborn commanders receive any recognition. these are the War Games
into this world of gladiator combat on a massive scale steps a young noble seeking to take his place among the greatest commanders this world has ever known. this is his story this is:

Go with the Advanced Wars army! You can take the AW esthetic and paint them slightly more realistic.

agreed, blue moon has always been my favorite because it combines my favorite color with one of my favorite military aesthetics. now I just need to know where to find those hats the blue moon troopers wear.

anyone know where I could find some heads wearing the hats the infantrymen in these sprites have? I should be able to figure out the rest.
