A question got brought up that I couldnt find in the BRB. Example was during my game today, i had my Sisters of battle rhino that lost all its hull points to glances, and the crew got out behind it via back hatch. The Lootas firing at the tank the previous turn wanted to kill the sisters for a VP, but didnt have LOS to the sisters. Can you shoot a wrecked vehicle to destroy it to get people behind it? We played it that you couldnt, but both of us were wondering. It was turn 6 at that point.

The wreck becomes a terrain piece. It is no longer a targetable unit. Or for that matter a Unit.

Once a vehicle is Wrecked it becomes terrain. With certain exceptions (such as Weapon Emplacements) terrain cannot be destroyed.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You could always house rule it. I've had a fair few games where ruined vehicles have turned from an interesting new tactical dimention, to clogging up the fething battlefield. With the mechanised meta in 5th and 6th I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

Unnessesarily extravegant word of the week award goes to jcress410 for this:

Just keep on trying to drive over it. and again and again.

I have had several hilarious battlefield moments like that.

In GW's defence, it's hard to write cut and dry rules for removing the remains of tanks.

I don't see why they should be removed. A wrecked tank is a roadblock.
It's not even unrealistic for troops to bail out the rear and take cover behind the hulk.

It's not unusual to have 6+ tanks on each side. By turn 3 or 4, assuming half have been destroyed, that's 6 extra solid LOS blockers on the field. It can make games very cumbersome to play, especially if you want to drive a tank over one or two previously ruined ones.

Again, not knocking GW with this. It's just an inconvience.

Yes. Mechanized lists have downsides.

It's fine how the rules work... Shooty armies don't need any more advantages as is.

In one game I played (2 players aside) a rhino got wrecked in a choke point between two buildings, another rhino tried to roll over it and got immobilized for its trouble, next turn it got wrecked as well.

Then I tried to roll over the two rhino’s with my land raider... which got immobilized... then wrecked.

Turned into a leaning tower of imperial fail.

If I were rigeld I'd tell you that "yes vehicles can be immobilised by dangerous terrain"

Since I'm not, that sounds funny as hell

It's like saying that playing a Horde list is cumbersome. It's an effect of how the list works.
The simple way to avoid any "unfortunate" side effects is to not play that kind of list.

And yes, I find it funny when there's a tower of fail vehicles.

Actually you would stop a vehicle where it first makes contact with difficult terrain if you fail the immobilization check unless they are already in the terrain to begin with. Then they would not move from their starting position. I admit the image of them stacked on each other is funny tho.

That's the Imperium for you,

If it wrecked the first vehicle, drive over it!

It fethed up the second one too? Use a bigger tank!

That didn't work? Exterminatus!

Meanwhile my DE fly over the leaning tower of trashed IOM tech, laughing their butts off as they zip back into the Webway...

We may have paper armour, but skimmers have their advantages

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

And that is why I thank the Ethereals that we got skimmers on our side.
NOTHING is a roadblock for us, but wreck us and we become a MASSIVE roadblock for you

Why settle for mobility or heavy armor when you can have both? (at a premium price though...)
