EDIT

Due to the fact that a disturbingly large number of people are unfamiliar with what drinking the Kool-Aid means, please review this link before posting or even attempting to interpret what this is supposed to mean.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=drink+the+kool+aid

What this does not refer to is literally Kool-Aid that is Antisemitic. JFC

A lot of people claim to be totally against racism and Antisemitism, yet are falling for the old Antisemitic claim that Israel is the enemy in the middle east. They completely ignore the context of any attacks that do occur, that the cause of the violence is terrorist attacks by the Palestinians and other extremist groups.

I don't understand how it is that people don't see how they're being manipulated by Antisemites, especially when they claim to be conscious and aware of Antisemitism after what the Germans did.

How do people not understand that they're falling for Antisemitic nonsense the same way that millions of Germans did?

Don't know if this is accurate Yiddish or not, but

Der Stern hoch!

So disagreeing with the policies of a foreign government means I'm racist against the people of said country?

I had no idea I hated Asians, Arabs, Africans, Europeans, South Americans, and even the citizens of my own country so much.

To all of you I apologize.

Yeah, those horrible terrorists, causing so much violence and death by committing the crime of being near someone Israel decided to blow up with an airstrike. It's all their fault that Israel had to murder them, and Israel should kill more of them as revenge for this senseless act of terrorism.

The simple fact is that Israel's actions go well beyond "necessary response to terrorism" and into mass murder of civilians. And that's on top of expanding through conquest and then reducing the occupied population to second-class "citizens" under a permanent blockade intended to starve them into submission. We're long past the point where "but Germany!" counts as an excuse, and in fact it only makes the problem worse: Israel should know perfectly well what it's like to be persecuted, but here they are doing everything short of building death camps.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I'm a Jew and I don't support the policies of israel, and that's with family currently living in Tel Aviv and having spent a night in a bomb shelter well visiting.

Does that make me a self hating Jew, do I have to turn a membership card or something, can I at least keep the eight days of presents

Israel is the enemy of the middle east, but then again so is all of Europe and English North America.

The reason people don't like them is because they don't fit the modern notion of a Western nation, being all peaceful and only going to war if you're actually invaded or you're America. I mean the Irish blew up a few British but the British didn't resort to air strikes....

That said I admire Israel for actually having gumption, something that I think is missing in most Western nations today.

Who does that?

Even Al Jazeera is on the record for saying there is no such thing as food shortages, lack of construction materials, etc...

While Israel certainly doesn't allow luxury items, or materials that have dual use for weapons, they ensure that everything the Palestinians need for surival is supplied, in accordance with the Geneva Convention.

Israel is at war with the government of the Palestinians. They want a change, then they need to unelect the government that has brought these conditions onto them.

This one time, in college, we ran out of Cranberry juice, so we mixed Kool-aid straight into our vodka. The hangover wore off eventually, but the anti-semitism of that seemingly innocuous little kool-aid packet haunts me to this day...

On a more serious note...

I usually don't comment in threads where I can't add something constructive, but the fact of the matter is, I vehemently disagree with the OP's ridiculous accusation of anti-semitism against all who disagree with his political views. It's painfully juvenile hyperbole and, IMO, really doesn't have a place here on Dakka. What's next- 'Everyone who doesn't support Japan's claim to Senkaku is a racist against the Japanese?' 'Everyone who doesn't support China's claim to Diaoyu is a racist against the Chinese?'

Do they serve a different flavor of kool-aid in Texas? Or do we all get antisemetic kool-aid?

Is that a cherry flavoring?

Also, I don't know anyone that thinks Israel is the bad guy. Granted that might just be US media at the work, but I can see why the Palestinians are upset at Israel, but again... I don't see them as the enemy of the middle east. Yes they're more Western than other countries in that area, and that will draw some ire, and we did kinda set them up in their own land, but at the end of the day, I don't know enough about the situation...

Also, OP you have a big fascination about WWII and things that have stemmed/evolved from it.

Actually I know a couple of people who think Israel is the bad guy. There is a lot of antsemiticism in many views, but not everyone who criticizes Israel is a racist. Anyone who starts off with "Zionists..." probably are racists one way or the other.
