This is intended to be a reasonably balanced, take-all style list.

HQ: 1 Overlord Warscythe; Mindshackle Scarabs; Sempiternal Weave; Phase Shifter
1 Catacomb Command Barge ; Tesla Cannon

HQ: 1 Destroyer Lord; Warscythe; Sempiternal Weave; Mindshackle Scarabs

Fast Attack: 6 Canoptek Wraiths; 6 Particle Casters

Troops: 5 Warriors
1 Night Scythe

Troops: 5 Warriors
1 Night Scythe

Troops: 5 Warriors
1 Night Scythe

Troops: 5 Warriors
1 Night Scythe

Troops: 10 Warriors
1 Ghost Ark

Heavy Support: Annihilation Barge

Heavy Support: Doomsday Ark

Heavy Support: Doomsday Ark

Total Roster Cost: 2000

The intention is to castle around an objective (where the mission calls for it) with the two Doomsday Arks bracketing the Ghost Ark. The 10 Warriors deploy around the Ghost Ark to benefit from its repair ability and also to help increase the footprint of the castle and discourage aggressive deep strikes. This set up is both a fire base and a fire magnet. Ultimately it should be reasonably hard to wipe out whilst also able to hit the enemy pretty hard, anything that shoots at this base is leaving the rest of my force alone and similarly anything it kills is... well, dead. I do worry about a fast CC unit getting to this base and wrecking havoc. I am relying upon the many Gause shots from the Warriors and the Arks to thin them enough to let the Warriors hold out until my mobile troubleshooters can help.

Speaking of troublehsooters, the first of these is The DLord and Wraiths. These have proven to be an exceptional tarpit for me to date in smaller point limits, and if they are able to pick their fights can do far more than that! The Dlord with MSS makes enemy characters fear the unit and the Wraiths' weight of saves/wounds and their own attacks keep enemy units more than busy. In some games I will split the DLord by himself as a mobile assassin for small or isolated units, he is also an exceptional vehicle hunter, when the unit is combined it is the perfect way to peel a LandRaider (a Warscythe plus Rending Wraiths pop it every time and the unit can keep the occupants well and truly busy afterwards). They are nice and mobile as well so they can redeploy pretty quickly if needed.

My second troubleshooter is also the unit I am least convinced about. The Overlord on CCB. On paper he looks like bad new to small units, enemy characters (thanks to MSS) and vehicles. He's mobile as heck and pretty durable. He's also a single model and if the barge bites the dust he's stranded. I like the theory, he fits my fluff and I like the model thus he's in the list at this stage.

The Annihilation Barge is the third troubleshooter. It picks on isolated enemy units with its speed and shooting or it supports the other troubleshooters by softening up whatever they're going after. It is also so fast that it can start with the Firebase to help deter Deep Strikes and similar aggression early whilst still zipping off to have an impact later in the game.

The four small Warrior units in Night Scythes do what they always do. Fly on, shoot at and generally irritate the enemy and then try to hold/contest as necessary.

Summary - Five troops should be enough to compete in most objective missions. Four of the troops are small squads but the Night Scythes kind of let them play like Rhino marines did in 5th. Hide and shoot until they finally pop out and score. The Wraiths and DLord I know to be an excellent unit. Fast and flexible, both tough enough to hold out against enemy strengths and hard hitting enough to mop up weak enemies comfortably. My firebase gives a generally short-ranged army some long-range punch (although the movement of the Scythes also makes range less of an issue) and hopefully a solid anchor to hold a battle plan together.

Hordes I plan to thin with the Doomsday Arks and the Tesla on the Scythes and the Annihilation Barge. The DLord and Wraiths can also comfortably hold up a big enemy squad.

LRaiders and similar heavy armour (which in my world still pop up on occasions) are also dealt with by the DArks and/or the DLord or Overlord. In a pinch they can be Gaused but that is a last resort.

MSU armies should (hopefully) die in droves to this army, I don't forsee too many concerns on that front.

It lacks any psyker defence whatsoever, but that's a Necron's lot. If any enemy could close quickly on the firebase with a serious CC force there could be trouble as well but hopefully I will see this coming and the CCB/DLord/Wraiths/ABarge can help sort it out. A couple of Scythes going down quickly could also be a problem for the army.

Doomsday Arks aren't really that great. I recommend no more than 1 in any army. Swap the other out for either a Doom Scythe or another Annihilation Barge + upgrades.

Also, consider getting a Res Orb for whoever will be your general.

Other than that, you have a pretty good list. As a matter of fact, it will probably dominate in casual play.

I have considered swapping the DArks for DScythes. I don't know; the long range of the Arks and the simple fun of Large Blasts kind of makes me want to try and make them work. I know scatter is a pain, but what is the general reason (or reasons) for the lack of DArk love I see in the wide world?

I have thought about the Res Orb as well, but since the Overlord is by himself it seems a lot of points for +1 to Ever-Living, and the DLord is effectively the same since the Wraiths get no benefit. That's my thinking anyway.

Well, not all Necron armies must look the same. Your army is definitelly a bit different from the main stream since it contains two Doomsday Arks which are not the most realiable shooting tanks in the game.
The Lord on CCB is a bit questionable, too. He's good when he has the right targets. If not, he's more a liability.
