Subject: Death company models as Assault marines?

Hi all.
So, I decided to bite the bullet, and get some assault marine troops for my army. I could get either the assault squad boxes, or the death company boxes. I paint my army as their own chapter, and I'm not going to use actual death company at all.
And the death company models look just awesome, and the box set has the weapon option's I want, unlike the assault squad one. SO, if I were to get the death company box, and just paint them up as elaborately decorated assault marines,
would that work? As long as I clarified they were standard assault marines of course, and they will be cream/yellow/desert coloured, not the black and red that most people would see and think death company.
So, could I do that? I just preferr the models, but would it be an issue? Automatically Appended Next Post: PS, yes I play blood angels

Just don't paint them black and kit them out as normal, you will be fine.

So, this idea is still going ahead for me, and for my army's fluff, they are basically in a mishmash of armour's anyway (The chapter they are in is plagued by bad luck, and as such they often have to use the armour of their fallen comrades for the new recruits, so everyone is a bit mix-and-match in their armour styles. They just repaint the armour each time and send them back out into the fray :p)
What i'd like to ask is, does anyone here know anything about the contents of the blood angels battleforce? I know the box says it contains 1 5 man assault squad, 1 5 man death company squad, a tact squad, and a rhino, but I was wondering, if anyone knew how many pistols/chainswords/anything I can use to make assault troops there are in the box. I allready have plenty of tactical squads, but if those sprues have chainswords and pistols too, or there are spare ones from the DC and assault marines sprues, I might be able to make 15 assault troops out of the box (I can get 5 more jumppacks pretty cheaply)
That way, I can buy the battleforce for 50 something pounds from a discount seller, ebay the rhino for say, £10-15, and get 15, higgeldy piggeldy looking jump troops for around 40 quid.
But yeah, I need the advice of someone who got the boxset before now

They come with the same sprues as each individual box. So...
Assault squad - 5x pistol and chainsword
DC - 5x pistol and chainsword
Tacs - 1x pistol and chainsword, for the sergeant.
Here's the thing, though - you get about 5 plasma pistols, a couple of inferno pistols, a couple of power weapons, a couple of power fists and a thunder hammer in all that too. Plus the tacs come with the special weapons the assault squad could take. Not sure if it has the meltagun, mind.
I'd say do it, build up the squads as you can and you'll probably find you're only a couple of weapons short, which are easy enough to get cheap online. You do only get 10 jump packs, though.

↑↑ Yeh this. I use an eBay seller called bmf bits quite often. They're pretty good and very fast. They sell individual jump packs as well.

If anyone complains about using Death Company minis for Assault Marines just show them your codex: its exactly what GW did for the studio army.
