The title says it all folks. I know this is an option to vulture gunships in the fw books. I'm debating doing this for my local gaming club campaign. Everyone involved would be okay with it of course. I'm just trying to come up with a points cost for it.

Also,

Do you think valk/vandettas should be able to be upgraded into gunships at the cost of transport capacity? (i.e. a gunship could have tl punisher cannons along with lascannons or mrp's. At a higher value of points and no transport capacity.)
I could possibly see guard doing this if they were short of dedicated gunships in a particular AO.

Well thanks for the help dakka!

It doesn't really make sense given the model; a Vulture has more guns because it's got a similar sized airframe and a much narrower fuselage. I suppose I could see someone improvising a way to convert the cargo space into a bomb bay, but adding more wing hardpoints at the cost of transport capacity would make no sense at all...

Honestly, Valkyries/Vendettas are very good gunships already, I'm not sure what you could really accomplish with this.

Razorback Principle.

I don't see a problem with this at all: You're basically saying, "This Valkyrie is a Vulture, but I can't afford Forge World."

Unless you're suggesting, "It's got an extra hardpoint but can only carry 6 infantry instead of 12".

The main issues to combat here are power-to-weight ratios. You could do this... but most of the extra space 'freed up' by the reduced transport capacity would have to be taken up by fuel. The more fuel weight you have to carry, the less range you have and the less ammo you can carry for your extra guns.

So it might be OK if you only fitted it with energy weapons, but once you start slapping autocannons and punishers on the thing it becomes completely infeasible.
