I net-listed (Kan Wall) when I first started 40k about 18-24 months ago. Now, I have 9 Kans (all painted to above TT quality). Should I just take them out of my gaming tote to make room for (sigh) 2 more dakka jets? Are they still worth carting around? I personally thought they didn't do well in 5th as they seemed like they'd always "explode" with a 6" blast, taking half a 30 boy mob with them. It got so bad that I started thinking of them as suicide bombers in my lines sent by my opponent.

I loved them in 5th, I hate them in 6th. Woot Hull Points ... boo.

Used to love Deffcoptas, now I'm converting them into Nob Bikers and "Dakka Coptas" ( fair amount of plastic card for this one)

I'm in the same situation, and I tend to find that having a squad around with gozdookas is still a pretty good deal. Gozdookas are still amazing anti infantry.

Killa kans have lost all their anti marine utility however, as krack grenades simply destroy them now. So you gotta ask youself if the shootyness of the Kans alone is worth it.

Also consider that you really need to upgrade your Rokkits to KMBs now to get decent damage table rolls. So that's them 5pts more expensive. I stick to the single squad.

2000pts Mech
1000pts Daemonzilla
1500pts Kan Wall
1500pts Driegowing

Not a bad idea, not sure if the ADL will 25% obscure these bad boyz but if it does it makes it sound a lil sweeter.

Are killa kans good with grotzookas? I already have alot of S8 A2 attacks because of tau allies.

Quote from chromedog
and 40k was like McDonalds - you could get it anywhere - it wouldn't necessarily satisfy, but it was probably better than nothing.

With those Tau allies, you at least won't be tempted to take the wildly dangerous (to the Kan) Gets Hot KMB If you're low on anti-horde shooting then grotzookas seem useful.

What's S8 AP2 in Tau?

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

I proxied a Mekanized Ork army yesterday after hearing nay-sayers talk down the kans.
IMO, the trick with kans is to just max out vehicles.
We did a 2500 point single force org game.
I took:
2 Big Meks, kustom force fields, 2x oil grots, each mounted in a Mekboy Junka (AV11/11/10) armied with 3x twin-rokkits and supa zzaap gun, and reinforced ram.
3x3 Nobs, all with shoota/skorchas, mounted in battle wagons with killkannons and dethrollas.
4x Trukk Boyz with rokkit, mounted in trukk with rokkit
3x3 Buggies, twin-linked rokkits
3x3 Killa Kans, big shootas

Armor Break Down:
3x AV14/12/10
2x AV 12/12/10
11x AV11/11/10
13x AV10/10/10
29 Vehicles!

The Dark Eldar simply couldn't keep pace on popping vehicles. Kans made it through the game by posting up behind vehicle wreckage for cover and blasting away with the big shootas. Big Meks got targeted early, and they really aren't that effective (but do draw off a lot of fire).

By the end of the game, the table looked like this:

Was a ton of fun to play, and play against.
I like the idea of converting up a ton of vehicles, so this type of army is now in line at my modeling desk.

Nothing that I can think of. Seekers and Fusion blasters are the only S8 Tau have. Fusions are AP 1 and seekers are...I can't remember. (I want to say four, though.)
