You get it. Who is your favorite character, or what is your favorite group.

Mine? The Legion of the Damned. They don't care that they were claimed by the warp, that they are slowly dying; no, they simply serve the Emperor, beyond the brink of death in many cases. They don't ask for praise, they don't ask for rewards or battle honours. They move on to the next battle, leaving a charred and massacred landscape behind them. It does not matter what they face, for their iron will, their honour, and their duty override everything.

That, or the Catachan regiment that completely owned the Tyranids. That is better than Marbo. And Marbo...

My favorite group - Imperial Guard. They are just professional solders fighting all the horrors the galaxy is throwing at them, so brave and epic.

Favorite characters - The God Emperor and Gabriel Angelos.

Favorite Chapter - Blood Ravens ( got to love Gabriel and Apollo ).

Favorite Guard Regiment - Cadian Shock Troopers ( solders from birth, what is not to like about them )

Favorite Legion - Imperial Fists, holding down imperial palace with Blood Angels was badass.

Favorite Chapter - Ultramarines. They held the Imperium together in the dark days after the Horus Heresy, and their Primarch rebuilt the Imperium into a shape that while imperfect, enabled it to endure for ten thousand years and more. Plus, they hold the common allegiance of three-fifths of all the Adeptus Astartes by bond of blood, and their home territory, the Realm of Ultramar, is the foundation of Ultima Segmentum.

Favorite Regiment - Cadian Shock Troops. They guard the entrance to the Eye of Terror and set the standard for the Imperial Guard across the galaxy.

Favorite Legion - Thousand Sons and Ultramarines. The latter I already gave my reasons, but the former because of their tragic story, and because they seemed to embody the psychic promise of Mankind, ruined by the touch of Chaos.

Favorite Character - Lion el'Jonson. He sucker punched Leman Russ. How much more badass can you get?

Chapter: Black Templars, Dark Angels, or Marines Malevolent. SM's need to be dark and brutal!

Regiment: Valhallan Ice Warriors

Legion: Night Lords. Terror incarnate.

Character: Konrad Curze. Actually well developed and interesting (A rarity in 40k, thank you ADB).

Craftworld: Biel-Tan. Basically reverse Black Templars.

Clan: Goffs. Simply the most intimidating/best color scheme.

Hive Fleet: Leviathan

Tomb World: Who cares Newcrons are horrendous

Cadian 88 th Mechanized Regiment .
Loved the book , based my regiment on it

Chapter: Space Wolves- Their rebelious, powerful, they can turn into wear wolves!, and they take crap from no one

Craftworld: Biel-tan- They protect the eldar and are the most offensive of all the craftworlds, also they are the only craftworld to run footdar

Character: Yierl, Russ, and Auserman

Hive Fleet: Behemoth- Old One Eye is a ninja

Chapter: Space Wolves - they take crap from no one,they are still one chapter who is loyal to the IT and the Emp,and they drink

Regiment: Valhallan Ice Warriors

Character: Yriel, Russ(he broke the fat traitors back), Logan, Lukas, Sevatar, Corax, Loken........oooooo and biggest badass ever - BJORN

For Loyalist Chapters, I like the Mentor Legion (prior to their retconning in 5th as being a "secretive" chapter that "prefers to work alone"... wtf?). Fun concept, and very different from the bog-standard Astartes in a good way. A guy at my old FLGS had squad painted as Mentors in both his BA and SW armies, and I always wanted to do the same if I ever end up playing Marines.

For IG regiments, I have a fondness for the Harakoni Warhawks and the Ultramar Defense Auxilia. And you've gotta like the Praetorian Guard. Nothing screams FRFSRF like pith helments and snappy red uniforms.

For Traitor Legions, it's got to be IRON WITHIN! IRON WITHOUT! Everything's better with hazard stripes and trenches.

The Death Korps for my regiment. Basically the perfect soldier for the Imperium favored style of fighting, well disciplined, probably with the lowest desertion/turning traitor rates as far as IG go, they're also a notch above most guardsmen in melee combat, something that happens all too often, feels like a few regiments could use that extra training.


Sanguinus seems like an enjoyable fellow to be around, he just breaks Greater Daemon spines on his knee and hold gates agaisnt an army or three for some time, shame he was snuffed out so easily.

Chapter: Mentor Legion, a chapter that constantly acts as a test bed for new weaponry, gathers new info and changes tactics plus their history and background is excellent and their color scheme is brilliant.

Regiment: Savlar Chem Dogs, the dregs of humanity pouring forward like a swarm, all industrial punk and drugs. What's not to love?

Clan: Blood Axes... Orks with tactics, wearing military garb, utilizing imperial weaponry, the clan that brought us stormboyz and kommandoz, coolest damned orks there are.

Legion: Emperor's Children, because the party never stops!

Craftworld: BielTan, great color scheme and not your average 'friendly' eldar, these are old school and all about wiping inferior species from the galaxy.

Hive Fleet: Shai Haluud, my wife's nids, cos I'm actually very taken with the natural looking colors she used.

Tomb World: anything that isn't silver and green...

Character: Urien Rakarth, a more loathsome and wicked creature you won't find in realspace nor the warp, this is the bastard that taught Fabius Bile how to be a bad guy. The model is also excellent.

Chapter = Dark Angels the 1st legion with the best primarch the Lion.

Regiment = Cadian Shock Troops just because they kick-ass.

Chaos legion = maybe World Eaters because they are crazy.

Craftworld = Lyanden because you have to love fighting basically the dead.

Dynasty = Sautekh Dynasty because they are trying the hardest to rebuild their empire.

Clanz = Blood Axes you have to love mercenary orks.

Hive Fleet = Gorgon for its ability to quickly adapt on a biological level to new circumstances of battle.

Sept s = Sa'cea sept is a hot, densely populated Tau world. It is highly militarised and has one of the greatest proportion of fire warriors in the Tau Empire.

Character = Commander Puretide was a legendary Tau Commander during the Second Expansion of the Tau Empire.

Chapter: Space Wolves - they are my 2nd love, just behind eldar Harlequins,big love for the Vikings & Werewolves and hate for the gay vamps...

Chaos : the flawless host ,because they have orgies

IG : Cadian Shock Troops

Character: LEMAN RUSS - he broke Magnus in half, and he was only one who punched Emperor in the face, after he was removing him from Horus,ofc he got knocked out (again) but still....

Favorite ork clan : The Bad Moons- because their teef grow faster than anyone else's, and they are the richest of the Ork Clans...

Favorite Character: Loken and Garro. They just refused to die and got rewarded with become the first Grey Knight

Legion: Night Lords both Pre and Post Heresy. They never really changed who they were. They still use fear to keep people in line and live by the teaching of Cruz.

Chapter: Blood Ravens. I liked the Thousand sins and I believe the Blood Ravens are a successor chapter. Always fighting to find there past but never getting the real answers.

Primarch: Omegon I think Omegon might have defected to the loyalist side. He seems to not be as devious as Alpharius.

Imperial Fist: Emperor's vanguard, damn proud history, awsome Primarch, kickass name.
Cadian Shock Troopers: Bad ass fighters training from birth, actually a competant military force
Orks are Orks, who cares. No true favorite
Black Legion: They arnt flying rodent gak crazy like the other legions and I always like Abaddon
Ulthwe: They are focused on fighting Chaos, more likely to aid the Imperium.
Leviathan: Only color scheme I like, the other big Hive Fleets are too crazy looking
None, not a big Necron fan.
There are a lot of great characters, Dorn, Corbec, Bequin, Saul Travitz, Sgt Bastognne, Creed etc...

Best Chapter: Any of the Unforgiven. They stick to their guns and complete their task regardless of other more important people ordering them to do something else, and answer to Azrael and Azrael only.

Best Regiment: Hard one. I personally like the Harakoni Warhawks due to the fact that they've got a really cool homeworld, but they haven't actually appeared in fluff for a while, so it's hard to say how much of what I know about them I've made up at this point.

Ork Clan? Not sure, I don't know a lot about them.

Chaos Legion: Probably the Night Lords, they've got the principles of modern war down pretty well (fear is the greatest weapon, rob the enemy of their will to fight and you have won before a single bullet is fired) and they've got awesome helmets.

Craftworld: Ulthwe, they're not nearly so bound to their prejudices as other Craftworlds and are a little more sensible and less principles-bound than most. Biel-Tan gets second place for actually trying to rebuild instead of huddling away and trying to survive at all costs, though.

Hive fleets are essentially all identical. Maybe Leviathan for beating on the Ultramarines, since I don't like them much.

Not particularly familiar with the Necrons, can't help there.

You missed Sept world; I like the T'au sept, very cool color scheme, and they've actually got the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, unlike most factions.

Characters...I've made up characters I liked better than any GW's written; I'm going to have to pass on this one.

Dark eldar and hesperax because i think they are cool.

Best Chapter: Space Wolves I guess, but depends upon the writer.

Best character: Many Dark Eldars and Orks are funny and well-written without looking like Van Dammes or having the same recipe as a John Cena-match.

Best regiment: Again depends on writer as much as when and where.

Chaos Legions: They are the poster-boys of badass-decay. Before even a Space Marine-scout who have been a scout for three hours show up. They are basically storming everything, they seem invincible and nothing can stop them. The aforementioned scout shows up. Abbaddon looses his arms, Kharn the Betrayer beheads himself trying to juggle chain-axes and they discover their bolters are replicas carved out of soap and their face gets eaten by a poodle.

Best Chapter: In my opinion Blood Angels pre heresy and Death Guard post herey

Best Character: Apothecary Meros or Sanguinius.

Best regiment: Hrmm dont have one actually.

I want to add to Honsou to my favorite character. He is such a bastard that I can't help but love him. He is so dead set on his goals. He is still out there and I can't help but think he is scheming to try and kill Uriel again even without the newborn

Best Fleet: The Ghorala Swarm

Best Character: Deathleaper

Best Chapter: The Salamanders

Best Craftworld: Biel-Tan

Best Chaos Legion: Alpha Legion

Chapter: My personal favourites are the White Consuls. Love everything about them. Pious followers of the Imperial Cult, revering the Emperor like a God. They like Drop Pod assaults and they've got a gorgeous colour scheme and livery.

Legion: I don't really have a favourite legion. I quite like the Raven Guard's approach to warfare with emphasis on stealth, reconnaissance and surgical strikes though. Plus they've got the whole avian thing going on, which is nice.

Character: From what very little fluff there is on Captain Vinyar of the Marines Malevolent, he seems like a fairly impressive guy. I really like Grimaldus as well, one of the more iconic chaplains.

Craftworld: Not that well read on Eldar but it seems like Biel-tan is the most warlike of the Craftworlds so I'll go with them.

Character: Col Straken - Bad ass nought said

Regiment: Catachan - Anybody carrying a BFK is cool

Chapter: Space Wolves - True Imperial Fighters and do what they think is right, no matter who ever it makes made aka the Inqustion

Clan: Blood Axez - Ork soldiers not just Ork Boyz

Craftworld: Biel-Tan - So bent on bring back the Eldar Empire
