Yes because all guys with nice cars are compensating. Like me, I compensate for my manhood with a 88 GMC truck, a Ford Focus, and a Ford Escape.
I REALLY want to compensate for my incredibly average manhood with a Aston Martin DB9, and if I feel like I really need the extra boost, I promise I'll be gentle baby, a 59' Cadillac Eldarado, and a 64 Lincoln Continental 4 door.
Did I mention that I think people who equate the type of vehicle you drive to compensating for something, while saying they drive a vehicle for people that dont need to compensate for anything, in my opinion, are often trying to hide the fact they need to compensate for something? Yeah that hurt my head too.

Cars to me when I was a kid were the way WH is to you guys now. Theyre like robots to me. Every one has a personality, stats, a nemesis, etc. You can rattle off a Squat Sgts ballistic skill to me because I have no clue. But I tell you the make, model, trim levels, and engines of most cars back to the 80s. And some people finally saved and got that Titan they were after (giant model robot, not the Nissan truck) and Ive steadily bought my (reasonable) dream cars. Its a hobby as much as wargaming is. And kudos to anybody who gets it and participates in my thread!

The 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4WD. Just as old as I am and cost my parents $1000 essentially new. Now, they've passed it onto me. It guzzles gas, has had it's axle bent from an accident (since fixed). Once, while driving, it just threw one of it's wheels off of the overpass it was on and into the road below (since fixed). A month or so ago the brakes up and stopped working immediately after filling the gas tank. (since fixed). This thing is a beast that just doesn't stop kicking ass. Me and my friends call it "the Hog" or "Warthog". The fastest that I've gone in it is 95 MPH, and I have done some pretty intense 2-wheel turns and drifts.

I am really not a car guy, though I really loved to drive when I was younger, and still tend to have a heavy foot and appreciate a windy road. I tend to beat my cars a bit, and don't spend extra on them. The Saab's been pretty darn fun, and very nice and comfortable for long drives too.

"I wouldn't call any of those "nice"." Says the man with a 2002 Honda Accord (since we want to go "that" route).
I unfortunately sold my cars that got looks to put a downpayment on my house. Said cars were: 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger, 360 roller cam engine, consistant 11.2 1/4 mile times on the cheap gas. Number 2 was a 1978 Dodge D100 Shortbed, bagged, mild 440, satin black (no not rattle can, actual paint) on red steelies with fat white walls, god I miss that truck . Its actually kinda funny, I am a Mopar man, I love everything Mopar and I own 2 fords and a GMC... I will admit that my 1988 GMC is a beater, but I need it for hauling, nothing more, picked it up for $500.00 and it hasnt let me down yet
d3m01iti0n: My moms boss had a NSX when she worked in downtown Houston for Prudential, he took me for a ride when I was around 10 I think, that car was freakin sweet! I like the little Escorts over there too like in your first post, I have never seen one in person but for a car of that era they actually look pretty cool.

I never got the idea that owning a fancy automobile means you're overcompensating, maybe they just really like the automobile or they have a boastful personality.
