Hello, DakkaDakka! 7-years-ish lurker (seriously, I have no excuse), first time poster here. Been dwelling in the shadows here for far too long, mostly looking at painting threads, but I must admit I'm hopelessly addicted to the News and Rumors board.

I got hooked on 40k when a friend showed me Dawn of War in 2004/5ish ("Why are there orcs in space? This game looks stupi- wait, is that a chainsaw sword?"). I mostly stay on the painting side of things, since when I play I tend to lose. I've been working on a Word Bearers army for well over four years now, and I've had a painting thread for it over on Bolter and Chainsword for almost as long.

Anyway, I've had an account here for ages, and I do occasionally paint non-PA things. Since I'm looking to start painting more non-PA things, and at the insistence of Dakka members I know IRL - 'sup Darth Bob - I've finally decided to open a thread here. I should have it up soonish, just wanted to say hi first. I'm usually pretty quiet on forums, but I'll try and speak up when I can. Looking forward to spending (more) time here.
