I always like to hear other peoples backstorys. Post them here and I'll.try to read as many as I can.

My backstory:
The kabal of the weeping stars are one of many kabals that split from the ravanged noble houses after the space marine invasion of the 35th millenium. The archon, Yulliptidon, is obsested with finding ancient eldar relics that he believes will slow the draing of his soul. He employs smaller kabal to scout for artifacts he thinks are usefull. He is famous for always keeping his promosises, though is equally infamous for his veiled double-speak. He sees other races not as lesser beings, but as primative, naieve, weak minded fools, and If they find themselvesa his mercy, then they deserve to die. Slowly.

"Archon Yulliptidon sat apon a throne made of polished glass, which gleamed with magnificence in the rays of the dying suns, beautifully suspended above the the many razor sharp peaks that where Commorragh. The archon held within his hands a a delicate pyramid of sculpted crystal, from which emitted a faint glow, an echo of the soundless screams of pain belonging to countless tortured souls forever trapped within. The room in which the archon sat in was something like a throne room, but displayed apon the walls where helm of every color, but all the same in size and shape. Some bore eagles on their foreheads, and others still contained the decapitated heads of their previous owners. Two huge, beautifully carved iron double doors, engraved with intricate runes of pain and suffering, opened at the far end of the room, to reveal a tall, elegant dark eldar warrior, clad in armor made from bone and flesh. "lord Yulliptidon, you asked for my presence?" Said the arrival, " to what do I owe the pleasure?". The archon raised his elongated head, skin as pale as a full moon, eyes as vivid as a horrible nightmare. " I did not ask for you, Thrayon, I ordered your presence. Do not think to much for your self, for truly, you are not much past a feral that one would find on the streets. As for why I have ordered you to my palace, it is because their is a task that I wish you to preform. I wish you and you kabal to cleanse the imperial out fort of Sargosain Gastienagan." Thrayon was both aghast and interested at what the archon had just said. "Such a task would stretch my kabal to its limits, only a great reward would be enough to do a deed like this." Yulliptidon was outraged by the the proposal of a "great reward" by Thrayon, but did not let his anger show, hiding it with a cold smile that hid his evil intentions surprisingly well. The archon was was famous for never telling a lie in his life, but was very fond of veiled double speak, and this was no exception. "Do not worry, Thrayon, you shall receive what you deserve." Thrayon, happy with this outcome, left to carry out Yulliptidons task. Little did he know what was coming. Thrayon had done a thousand evil deeds, and what he deserved was a horrible death equal to to all those he had caused. Yulliptidons smiled. He was going to have fun."

Seems like my sort of thread Although I'm not sure if this might be better suited to the dakka fiction section?

I have plenty of back story for my army in that section if you feel like having a read?

Mine are a Pre-fall Eldar armageddon cult, at the time of the fall.

They are possibly being trolled by Tzeentch, and believe they are worshipping Dagon and trying to wake him/bring him into the material universe.

Their holiest act is disintegration (DL/Disintegrator) to further push the imbalance between the material universe and the 'other', with each disintegration tipping the universe closer and closer towards oblivion.

My army is heavily Coven themed, with the Kabal and Cult elements having religious cult overtones as fits the units.

I have a CSM warband that is Nurgle themed called The Heralds of Blight

As far as background goes they were originally a Chapter of marines named The Thunder Stalkers that were commissioned into service by the High Lords of Terra near the end of the 35th millennium. The chapters genetic stock was that of the Primarch of the Imperial Fists Rogal Dorn and bearing this genetic heritage the newly born warriors founded their chapter upon the planet of Helmorn III near the eastern fringe. After almost two thousand years of faithful service to the Emperor and Imperium in the 37th millennium the Thunder Stalkers were one of the more than thirty or so chapters that came to be known by the title 'The Judged' as named so by Saint Basillius of the Ecclesiarchy. This judgement was laid down after a series of warp storms ravaged the ill fated chapters home worlds causing mutation and rampant cultist activity and they were then forced into a redemption crusade that came to be known as The Abyssal Crusade.

The Thunder Stalkers entered the Eye of Terror along with the other dishonored chapters and were scattered deep into the horrific plane of insanity to a daemon planet called Heiramos that to all of the malfunctioning sensors and other forms of scrutiny appeared to be a world of dead cities. The Chapter Master Garoth Krayvor ordered the 3rd, 6th and 7th companies to make planet fall and each scout out a different city to gain more intelligence as to what they were dealing with. So with their orders issued the 3rd, 6th and 7th companies made planet fall in good order and began their slow steady movement through the diffident cities but soon the three companies began to lose vox communications with each other and the waiting fleet in orbit. After the third day of no contact with the companies sent down to scout, the Thunderhawks that had taken the companies down reappeared but did not respond to any hails from the fleet but they did start to returned to their respective ships to dock.

After all of the Thunderhawks and other landing craft that had returned made it back to the safety of the embarkation decks they began to open and as one the marines that had made planetfall only days earlier disgorged onto every vessel in the fleet but not as the stalewart Astartes they had once been but as defiled and rotten corpses. Slowly one by one the ships of the fleet began to fall to the abominations and for some reason that is unknown many of the astartes thought loyal turned on their brothers and joined the army of corpse warriors to claim the ships. After a short time the resistance began to lessen because of the surprise assaults sheer shock value having killed most of the loyalist quickly. So with the fleet taken and the loyalists dead the once Captain of the 3rd company Hargrave Nehilen assumed control of the assembled warriors numbering almost five hundred marines and led them in a ceremony of renaming, defilement, and devotion that honored their new lord and master grandfather Nurgle and he smiled upon them blessing them with all manner of putrid gifts.

The newly re-dubbed Heralds of Blight emerged from the Eye of Terror deep into the 40th Millennium and have been spotted reeking horrible devastation upon many different sectors of the galaxy in the form of plagues, famine, and brutal war. They have only the cause of bringing the destruction of the universe to fruition and do so gladly with the blessings of their great patron.

I liked blood frenzys baxkstory. Check this!

In order to inspire fear in their enemies and zeal in their brothers, while in battle, the Gallowsmen carry a myriad of tools with which to hang and display the remains of the dead and dying foes, and in some cases, their own brothers.

The carry their dieing brothers into battle with them! That is awesome!

Lesser Daemon of Chaos

Two parts:

My Loyalist chapter, the Scions of Gnosis, is an Inquisition based chapter tasked with finding relics and artifacts that might come in handy in the future. To help guide them, the Council of Warpgazers, a collection of powerful psyker Librarians that lead the Scions, divine the warp through Warpscrying. Unfortunately, one time when they were doing it Tzeentch exploded out and grabbed their minds while they were exposed. The Chamber Lord (Chapter Master equivelent) managed to pull away in time, but the other ten Librarians got corrupted. Once he realized what was happening, he called for the Grey Knights onboard (It's an Inquisition vessel, of course they have some backup) to come help him because the ten Librarians were tearing open a hole into the warp and daemons were beginning to force their way through.
So on so forth the Chamber Lord teleports off the ship and onto another vessel under Scion command, but about four hundred other Space Marines stayed behind to try and stop the daemonic flood. When they realized their resistance was futile, the Chamber Lord was forced to open a warphole and force the ship into it.
The Scions onboard tried to hold their own, but they were being assaulted by the warp itself. Eventually they accepted their fate and became corrupted by chaos. When the gods were satisfied, they released the ship back into realspace.
Unforunately, the ship ended up out in the middle of Tau territory. Furious at their betrayal, they descended upon a small Tau world with an insatiable thirst for vengeance.
So on so forth, until the Betrayed (current working name for the CSM chapter) took a group of Firewarriors and an Ethereal hostage. After almost a year of torture, they got a small satisfaction in forcing the Tau to abandon their belief in the Greater Good and the corrupt Chaplains rushed in to fill their heads with the whisperings of the Dark Gods. The Tau now fight under the Betrayed as slaves, although some relish the newfound freedom and take the worshipping as serious as some of the Chaos Marines.

The Scions have since revised their Warpgazing ritual so that they both only have each Librarian see a fragment of the divination, which the Chamber Lord indirectly pieces together, and they use the body of a psyker captured by the Sisters of Battle as a window so there's an additional barrier in case something does happen. Also, there's a team of Grey Knight Purifiers that stand against the wall with Storm bolters at the ready.

I'm currently in the process of trying to write a more detailed description that I'm going to post to Dakka Fiction.
