FFIII is available on Android tablets.

I have an NES and SNES emulator and I whip out FF sometimes. But yeah, I would like an app-style RPG game.

I didn't mean that you could use an emulator to play FFIII on a tablet. I mean you can buy FFIII from Google Play and it has touch-based controls.

While the date is still TBA, Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition will be coming to Android.

Have a look on the google play store thing, someone has ported NetHack over to android

admittedly the controls are awful (essentially uses the android keyboard, but then again the pc versions aren't much better, but it supports some tilesets.

Here's a link to the wiki for info,

It's a good game if you can get over the horrible graphics and controls, but that's because it was never intended to have a GUI, it was designed to run in a linux/unix/etc terminal ( and even with tilesets, it's not much bette), but it's good fun and incredibly challenging, honestly I've played on-and-off since university, but never got past the dwarf cave levels.

The game features permadeath and randomly generated levels, so if you die it's back to square one.

As for starting out, the best tip I can give you is don't go kicking sinks...
