As topic says. I personally feel like the Legion of the Damned is almost playable and doesn't need a lot to become a solid unit instead of the ho-hum unit it is today. Sternguard would still be cheaper, have access to Drop Pods (for the first turn meltablasting we all love) and have access to more combi-weapons, as well as being better in a Pedro Kantor list.

While it sounds like a decent idea, I think it would cut into the Sternguard's niche too much. Perhaps some special issue ammo that the sternguard do not posses?
(Granted, Sternguard ammo covers pretty much all the possible use cases for a squad of marines, but still)
What about some sort of bladestorm like ability that lets them fire twice on the turn they come down? Probably somewhat OP, but they are fairly expensive to begin with.

idk about the special issue ammo, but i really do think something needs to be done with the LoTD units, no one runs them, like at all, they just cost to much and dont bring any thing to the table other then a 3++.
IMO i think they would be better if they had multiple wounds ontop of the 3++ like 2 wounds a model.

To many unpainted models to count. |

Well...since they are basically marines on fire, why not some sort of magical incendiary ammo?
