Ok so the setup is.

1- Libby (power GATE of infinity) with Termies Squad.

2 - Drop Pod with locator beacon.

Turn 1 start, the drop pods gets on the battlefied, my question is: Can I use gate with the beacon on the drop pod on the turn the pod drops?!

From what I recall, my BRB is in the bathroom, the locator beacon has to be on the field at least a turn.

Yes, you can use GoI with the Locator Beacon. The catch is the Beacon can't have arrived the turn you wish to use it.

Plus, I don't see the point in using the locator beacon with Drop Pod Assault, because (even though they can't be used) the models that hold them are most likely still going to be in your deployment, and isn't the point of a drop pod to land them near the enemy? Unless you have trickerydickery Infiltrators, maybe.

Gate of infinity allows you to move as per deep strike, but not teleport.

Since the locator beacon says deep strikers don't scatter, you're good, if the locator was already on the field.

I would recommend using scout bikes with a locator for what you are trying to do.

You have Teleporthomers which can be taken by scout- and tactical sergeants and you have the Locators which can only be taken on Drop Pods and Scoutbikes, which allow every deepstriker to not scatter.

If you put locators on your Drop Pods, you put those in the first wave and every Pod which remains in reserve and other deepstrikers can come down safely near the first Pods.

Incorrect, gate of infinity is a deep strike, not a teleport. It will not work.

It will work, as you are using Locator Beacons in the Pods with states that every deep striking unit will not scatter if it is in 6". The only problem with the tactic mentioned in the OP is that you cannot use the Locator the turn the Pod has landed.

If using locator beacons yes, if using teleport homers, as you mentioned, no.

It will work but a wise opponent will kill the pods before you get to deepstrike so you got to bring a lot...Even then they would kill the best placed one but that is that much fire not going elswhere.

It really is a fun tactic especially when your opponnent ignore the pods so you can GOI a few times

I've had luck with 2 drop pods that drop ironclads on turn one, both pods having locators. They tend to hang around.
