Need to find someone to play games with in or around San Mateo area , willing to travel a little.

Have you tried any of the local game stores? There's Game Kastle in Santa Clara and Gaming Legends over at the Valco Fashion Court/Cupertino Square, plus Gator Games over in your own town of San Mateo.

I have tried gator and they don't really play 40k much but I'll check the others out! Thanks mate

Legends (in Valco) hosts 1500 point 40k tournaments every Sunday at noon; Game Kastle has 40k nights on Thursdays and often Sunday morning 40k as well, and tournaments every month or two as well as league play sometimes. Here are some Facebook groups that you might find useful for those stores:

I do go to Game Kastle, but typically only on weekends rather than Thursdays. I think we've met before though-- I believe you killed my Space Marines over at Legends with some Necrons back when they ran 1000 point tournaments every Wednesday! I'll be sure to identify myself when we next meet.

We should definitely play one of these days. Some of the readers here want to see a battle report of my bugs against space marines. You should check out some of my batreps in the link below. Bugs are quite strong.

If you want to play against anywhere from casual players to competitive ones (like me), just head on over to Game Kastle in San Jose on Thursday evenings, from 6pm to closing. There's usually 6+ people there so it's easy to get a game in. Just don't come too late, as people will have already paired up for games by then.

jy2, sounds good! I'll see if I can drop by one of these Thursdays (probably not tomorrow, though). It's been a while since I've faced off against the bugs!
