Now this is all conjecture and knowing how GW is (yknow a business that likes to keep making profits) unlikely to happen, and just kind of for fun, but:
In my sleep addled mind I came up with a possible outcome for current events based on how things in the 3rd war for armageddon are turning out and random bits here and there from the other races mythologies. As the imperium is going the way of the roman empire, the tau are the commie nieghbors no one really cares about unless you have to live next door to them, the necrons are all over the place and being kind of silly, and the eldar are slowly dying; this leaves the orks, chaos, and the tyranids as the main factions that are truly thriving in this grimdark. If the imperium and eldar fell and one were to believe such things as the star child and ynnead then chaos would be essentially boned (in theory). Meanwhile, if the 3rd war for armageddon, and conflicts similar to it, expand accross the galaxy that would basically make it a very crowded galaxy for anything not orky or niddy would probobly fall in the crossfire leaving the galaxy a huge brawl.

Now I realize this is fairly far-fetched and has alot of "ifs" in it but i think it would be pretty amusing as both sides would be nigh unstoppable in their element, any opinions?

Kain on Tzeentch:
The negative so far outweighs the positive that it creates a vicious cycle, with Chaos ensuring more bad things(TM) and largely only bad thigs happen. The fact that the major Xenos are mostly donkey-caves doesn't help, especially since the Imperiumis in turn, a bunch of donkey-caves.
Thus Tzeentch, god of donkey-caves, is the most generally successful. Because out of this huge pile of donkey-caves, none are more dickish than the great blue Jerk.

No, Orks and Tyranids duke it out forever.

Which personally, i don't think is that cool.

So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. No his idea is that orks and nids are all that's left and fight until the main nid force arrives eats all the orks in this galaxy and then moves onto the next

The Emperor is going to wake up, summon the lost legions of Care Bears and My Little Pony Space Marines which will then march forth spreading rainbows and caring across the galaxy. The Chaos gods will learn an important lesson about sharing and playing nice with others while the Tyranid are all spayed. The Orks seeing this unstoppable force of caring will then realize that true strength comes from helping others.

I saw this in the new book they have coming out that was left on a desk as I was taking a tour of games workshop headquarters. This is totally legit.

The point of 40k is that the 'civilized' folk are teetering on the brink of destruction. If you take away that aspect, the whole thing becomes kind of dull; for that reason, I don't think anyone's ever going to 'win'.

I apologize for how vaugue this came out... Basically my idea was about how basically things would degrade into orks and nids basically duking it out forever.

.......In hindsight not the coolest idea but, with how things are looking it's a possible senario should GW let their story progress.

Part of the idea came from how every race in the galaxy is ancient and stagnant except for 2, orks and crons, and how both of these forces sseem to be near infinte. The bulk of the crons are still farting around in the intergalactic void and wherever the imperium goes, the orks are already there.

Several of you bring up good points about that idea though, the fact that an orks vs nids till the end of time would be very redundant and boring, and how the variety adds flavor to the grimdark. I could almost liken it to a grayish rainbow
