Hey guys, I've been sitting for a few hours now looking at my sorcerer model mounted on a bike debating with myself whether or not should I rip his force axe arm and replace it with a force sword (It isn't painted yet so I have to decide before priming it) I plan on running him exclusively with a list where my bikes try to be a death star, having a jugger lord with blind axe, 8 bikers with MoK and the champion having a power fist, so I think some AP3 would be nice, still not sure.

What would you guys recommend? Considering the sorc would be T5 at least (depending on the biomancy rolls) and having sigil, I would hope to withstand any incoming AP3 attack from squad champions and if ever facing an HQ they usually have better I than 4, which would mean I was going to hit last anyway (again depending on biomancy, warp speed could allow me to deliver some blows first but then again would be AP3)

Dunno I'm really confused on this one would highly appreciate some opinions here

I generally prefer the axe on sorcs except MoS ones. This is because unlike most champs they have a decent chance of taking out a terminator sargent and survive, you might as well use that. Particularly if, as you say, they are T5 and thus much less likely to get gawked by a power sword. And the Force weapon means he has a semi-decent chance of taking down all those pesky multi wound terminator ICs, which you'd very likely would not get a swing in at I4 anyway. Even more importantly, an axe actually has a decent chance to wound an MC with the +1 str, which is a huge boon for a Force Weapon user. Wounding on 5+ is MUCH better than 6s.

I'd still suggest you run him with a Power Sword bike sarge, so he can take care of power first sargents.

Mmmmm yeah, maybe you are right changing the weapon on the champ would end to be a cheaper solution and he does get obliterated most of the games due to accepting challenges against HQs

so here are my thoughts

first what is a force sword or a force axe? Its a power sword or axe that can ID. Who do you want to ID? (Expensive Characters(IC)?!) ICs usually have init 4-5+ and a 2+ save. When rocking init4 you are probably going to be going simo or last anyway, and if you cant get through the 2+ you might as well not strike. Sure some ICs have powerfists, but almost none have powerfists and not a 2+
Also sorcs dont have many attacks, so you might want to think about how you are going to actually put wounds out, +1 strength helps with that.

ALWAYS take the force axe.

for aspiring champions the best bet is a single lightning claw or naked. The claw also allows you to take a combi weapon if you like.

An axe is always a good option, espically for a sorcerer because all you need is one wound to kill something, and the axe helps make sure that happens.

But weapon choice is all about what the unit he's attached to has.

I've been looking at the Force staff and wondering what the actual benefit of that is. I ran it on a Sorc with Biomancy and was kinda funny hitting with S8 attacks. Through luck alone I managed to get 1 wound unsaved and was able to ID to win a challenge.

I'm thinking that an axe would be better, just to get the extra insurance you can cause atleast 1 wound.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

Yeah, the staff is good for non-MEQ armies, really good against those but since 80% of the armies are marines, it greatly diminishes its effectiveness, however I remember an ork with one of those rokkit maces or whatever (S10 AP4?) instakilling my termie lord, oh what a sad day that was
