In the warp, searching for Marbo

Don't think this is a rule, but I was wondering if you could blow up your own vehicles? Using your shooting turn to cause your vehicle to explode as if it had rolled 6 on a penetrating blow. example: the crew attached frag/krak/ over charge the engine to cause the explosion? I mean, in some situations a vehicle may be more useful as a bomb.

After all these years of searching for Marbo...he found me. Heretics beware! He's back!

It might be more effective as an one-shot upgrade

"Blast shield"

The vehicle crew, in fear of being overwhelmed, active an omi-directional mine, blasting shrapnel in all directions, but the powerful explosives are unstable and are jury rigged on a hair trigger...

Once per game the vehicle may choose detonate the blast shield; roll a d6.

If 2-5 is rolled center the ordinance blast over the model. All models under the blast suffer an automatic S3 AP4 hit.

On a roll of 1 the Blast shield malfunctions and is lost

On a roll of 6, the Ord. blast counts as S6, AP1

Additionally, whenever the vehicle travels thru difficult or dangerous terrain, roll a d6 to see if the device accidental triggers.

Thoughts?

I think what he's looking for is blowing up the vehicle to use it as a bomb, something like this:

Critical Overload: Under dire circumstances, this vehicles weapons/power system can be purposefully overloaded by the crew, causing it to detonate in the midst of the enemy lines. During your turn instead of shooting with a vehicle you may choose to attempt to active the critical overload. Roll a D6. On a roll of a 1, nothing happens, the overload either failed, or the crew were unable to bring themselves to detonate the vehicle. On a 2+, the vehicle immediately suffers a vehicle explodes result according to the vehicle damage table. On a roll of a 6, the explosion instead affects all units within 2D6 of the tank, and is now S6 AP4.
