Iv wanted this model since it was first released, IMHO its one of the nicest dragon models out there (top 5 at least), and considering its FW, and the prices of other dragon sculpts, its positively cheap!
Anyway, finally got my mitts on one, and now she is done!

And thats it, if anyone is wondering why purple, fluff-wise thes dragons start out a dee
p ruby red when young (hence the red egg) and gradually darken to a purple-black as they age, so mine is sort of 'middle aged' I guess.

Also, they model comes with no base, only the stump, so I made one up out of some spare chariot bases, added 'runnin Jim' and a bit of debris.

So, any questions/comments/jeez-what-have-you-done-to-that-poor-model?
Cheers

(These were phone camera pictures, which dont tend to pick up highlights terribly well )

I like the paint job although the horns could have benefited from a wash or two. But these are minor issues in my mind.

I see what you mean, but thats what Im saying, irl those gradients aren't as harsh as they appear. Or are you simply saying they are too bright?
And mikeyboy, its just really cold...

Awesome looking dragon. My one small critisim would be that the peasant could just a wash on the face and leggings. Just to give it a bit of depth.

Very good work JP. I've seen this model in the flesh, or in the resin so to speak. However I will say again that it is a very good piece of work you have done and you've brought out alot of this Dragon's potential with your paint job.

I like that you have not gone overboard on highlights and other effects in an attempt to show off which might of detracted from the model overall. The Deep purple look of it works very well in showing up the details but not confusing us who look upon it but being a mass of highlights and effects.

I do agree with Snrub above when he says that the peasant (which I gave you, never forget that irrefutable fact in your whole wretched life) needs a little work. Some ink, even watered down would have a lovely effect on him.

One more thing, you are right when you say that Dragon is cheap, as in not too expensive I'll have to get one, though I'll do mine another colour, though I know not what.
