So my kids just spoiled my Christmas present from the wife and they let me know that she got me an airbrush set (not sure which one). So in all my excitement I've blown up YouTube and watched all the tutorials, looked at making a spray booth, cleaning ect...
My issue is I want to find a few cheap models to practice on before applying paint to expensive mini's I think maybe my eBay-fu is not strong cuz I couldn't find much.
Any Ideas?

Use Simple Green to strip any models you paint, then you don't need to buy "test" models

Toy stores.
Cheap tube figures, Chinese built diecast and the like - I use them for trying out new paints and paint techniques. $20 should get you plenty of junk to try stuff out on. You can use harsh strippers on them to start over or you can simply toss them and get new ones.

@SilverMK2 - There is always that but I'd prefer not to if I can avoid it.
@Sean - That's a brilliant Idea. and I can get away with it buy getting the Kids stuff while there....

I don't know what you paint, but there are plenty of eBay stores that offer minis on the cheap. Just look for any of the Black Reach marines or orks, they are dirt cheap now.

go to the dollar store and buy plastic cars, figures and stuff. I use those to test new paint schemes.

This might sound silly, but use old sprue, glue it together, make a sheet of it, and test technique on it. It's the plastic they use for your mini's so why not?

old sprues isnt a bad idea. I use it to test how paints will come out, when mixing.
I like the idea of cheap toys with larger plains so as to test out how far away works for me, angles, shading and maybe even tiger stripes.....

GW also has those little boxes with the snap fit models with like 4 marines, 5 guards, 4 eldar and stuff like those... i would expect them to cost like 10 bucks per box and you can just repaint models painted with an airbrush because the layers of paint are extremely thin!
