Possessed Khorne Marine Covered in Spikes

The Necron codex mentions that Trazyn's vaults below the tomb world of Solemnace contain many wondrous artifacts, including Imperial, and makes mention of "A giant of a man clad in baroque power armour, his face contorted in a permanent scream".
Could this be an intentional reference to the body of a missing primarch? If so which one?

Lets see the missing Primarches are Dorn, Russ, the Khan and Corax. Russ is unlikely as he is running wild in the Warp with his 13th Great Company.
The other three might be, but I wouldn't hold my breath about it. I personally have interpreted it to mean a Chapter Master, but then again that's just my thinking.

I think its almost certaintly a Primarch.
Remember it doesn't have to be a living primarch. It could be one thats already dead.

Well Khan was last seen heading into a warp rift chasing Dark Eldar, so that makes him very unlikely. As said, Russ would be nearly impossible as well, since he went to head butt the Eye of Terror, and that's the last place you'd find any Necrons. Dorn was believed killed battling the forces of Chaos.
Corax is really the only missing Primarch whose accountability could work for this scenario.

I'd like to think that the most uptight of the Chapters would have noticed a bunch of Crons sneaking into their most holiest of places, and running away with a 1 ton flesh bag.
And had it occured, I'm pretty sure every Ultramarine successor chapter would have declared Jihad on that dude.

I reckon it would be cool be Ferrus Manus after all he has that necron metal hand Trazyn could of easily swapped Ferrus with an imposter after he was beaten by Fulgrim the first time, we are talking about Trazyn after all he would go to any lengths to get a prize like that. (Iron Hands colors are black as well so fits well)

People tend to make a bit of a logic jump in giant of a man in old-school PA = Primarch.
Space Marines are giants compared to men, and while Trazyn likely wouldn't bother with any mere "normal" space marine, there's no shortage of significant MIA Marines from the Great Crusade onwards.
A Primarch would certainly warrant his attention, and there are a number of them missing, but it could easily be an early Chapter Master. I think it heavily depends on how long Trazyn has actually been "up and about."
|
Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

The reason they didn't notice was because most of the time there are no Space Marines in the Sol system...

Yes. Terra is also the symbolic homeworld of the IF (Though they never recruit from it) There are pilgrimages and such made to it but it's largely just regular humans defending it. Admittedly a lot of them.

Yeah all you need to do is fight your way through the largest naval force humanity can field and then past dozens of immense space stations and then make planetfall on a hostile world which at that point would simply consist of billions of billions of rabid frothing zealots...
Oh and the GK live nearby but I don't really count them as SM...
By the time you've actually got to the planet, word will have reached the nearest chapters who would have sent basically everyone they have...

The Imperial Fists never recruits from Terra? You really need to update your reading about the Imperial Fists. They maintain recruitment-posts on Necromunda, Inwit and Terra. But doesn't have any special rights on the planets. Captain Lysander f.ex. became a recruit during a pilgrimage to Terra as a boy. Also the Space Wolves have a very scarce number at Terra as Wolfblades, who are bodyguards and leaders of the forces of a Navis Nobilite family. Of course both SW and IF tends to be undercover since the thought of Space Marines scares small children at Terra.

The IF pick up recruits from basically everywhere.
They don't recruit from Terra regularly, it's status as their homeworld is merely symbolic...

How many recruitment posts do you think the Imperial Fists maintain? I never speculated about their homeworld, but true it's in name only. Inwit originally, fleetbased chapter for all intents and purposes. I basically assume the Imperial Fists recruit from inside Segmentum Solar planets and moons. Of course that's just me assuming and you are free to disagree with me as you see fit.
As for how often. The sources is contradictory. At one side it's the recruitment-fortress, which tells me they get recruits regularly, but then you have Captain Lysander's story who say the Imperial Fists rarely recruit. I guess there really isn't much to grip at except those two statements, but remember from about a million or even 1000 Space Marines. 100 Space Marines from Terra would be a small number (this is speculation of course). And most recruits fail anyway. Of course this one is totally open to any interpretation, there is no wrong answer here.

Just saying, the Adeptus Mechanicus live on Mars, they'd probably not take too kindly to any Necrons invading, and the full power of the Battlefleet Solar augmented with the Adeptus Mechanicus battlefleet kinda makes an assault unfeasible. Especially considering how long it took the AdMech to vaporize the Necron ships (which might not even be current fluff anymore, considering how the latest Codex removed the Necron inertialess drive tech).

I don't think they removed the inertialess drive exactly. They did get rid of the Necron's realspace FTL capability though.
I get a laugh thinking that Trazyn might have grabbed Lorgar after he went into his tower to meditate.

If witty speculation shall rule. Then only Angron, Mortarion, Fulgrim and Magnus are outside the speculation (they are heard from from time to time). With maybe Lion as well, but, I won't be surprised if some nut-job claims Trazyn has broken into the Rock and spirited him away.

Suddenly your going to see a Dark Angels crusade that will make their hunt for the Fallen seem like a christmas party. And they will give absolutely no reason why... Although, I imagine that the Watchers in the Dark will probably be really irritated with Trazyn and probably kill him and take his body back along with Lion's.
