So I am looking at my leftover bits from making my FW squad and I was struck with an idea. Use one of the pulse rifles to make a Drone Fire Warrior. I saw a thread a while back where someone put some necron guns on Tau drones and people had mixed feelings about them. With this I was thinking about putting two of those little grenade bits together on the other side to balance it out and act as a TA to explain why the drone is suddenly BS 3. What do you guys think? Here is a test model complete with blue tac holding it together (standing next to a test FW for comparison) (sorry for the crappy image)



Fair Dakka, would you let this fly? It makes sense to me that if Drones can operate in groups, and they can be given Snipers and controlled, why not operate in groups and use Pulse Rifles?

I was thinking about putting the rilfe around the middle bit and a grenade pack on each side, but I don't want to look like a Sniper Drone with confidence issues...

I would even model the rifles upside down to mimic the way they hold carbines!

Umm... they're not supposed to hold carbines upside down...

My main problem with it is that drones on their own are supposed to be jetpack troops. It might become confusing, however if your opponents are fine with it, go for it. Actually get some use out of the little saucer dudes

Suppose your right. I think I will whip a few up and see how they look.

The plan was to just run them intermixed with a squad of FWs and not run any gun drones so it doesn't get confusing!
