Hi I played vassel 40k about 4 years ago and was wondering if people still play it. I went to the website and it looks like it has improved graphics which is a bonus, however, when I went to the vassel40k forums http://z13.invisionfree.com/vassal40k/index.php?act=idx it seemed like there was nothing going on...few posts etc. So is the 6th edition out, do people play still, did it get a GPS overhaul, is there an iPad version?

The forums are both new, and most people play on the servers itself.

I dunno about any GPS overhaul or iPad version, but some buddies of mine do play it still.

From what I know the last time the 40k vassal module was updated was right when 5e came out; I don't know that it's workable in the context of the game today. Someone might have updated it since I last checked, though.

I know this is a little off topic, but does anyone out there know if I can run Vassel on my iMac without using 'Wine'? It'd be good to play it again..... Cheers..

is vassal actually any good? I considered getting it, but decided against it. Do you have access to any unit from your cosen army?

Yes. It's very bulky to use, especially at start, but it works well. Just need to invest a few hours to get comfortable with it.

Would you recommend I give it a go?

Yes, the only models that aren't currently in the game are some forgeworld (Actually plenty isn't in) The current fortifications, and the new CSM models (Maulerfiend and the like)

It's a bit bulky now that it has yet to update to sixth, but its very functional.
