I have a quick game next week with a pal. he likes guard tanks so sure he will try to get as much stuff popped as possible.

Librarian - 100 points

10 Tactical Marines + Meltagun + Multimelta - 175 points

5 x Assault Marines + Power Sword - 115 points

Land Speeder + Multimelta - 60 points

Land Speeder + Heavy Flamer - 50 points

try dropping the tacticals for all assault with at least a meltagun in each because those tacticals wont be getting in that melta range anytime soon just footsloggin unless you could find room for a rhino

if you can get a rhino swap the multimelta for a lascannon they are longer range so you will be able be knocking down tanks sooner

you could try a ml

if hes against ig if they have a russ the ml wont be doing much to it also lascannons get +1 to result table

500 points total with decent fire support from razor backs and land speeders

I agree with this. The flow of the list doesnt work well with the tactical squad. Either change out their heavy and special wep for something more defensive. And sit on an objective or go with the assault squad and get a meltagun in each squad.

drop the mm or hf on the bumper cars so you dont waste shots on a target and instead give the assault marines melta bombs or something more useful

I love land speeders though. Always have a fun time with them. Just my favourite vehicle model.

Me too. Have 4 in various states of completion. 3 of them are the old metal ones. A total pain to build but great looking.

This leaves 30pts to either; add a melta gun and melta bombs to each squad(srg), power weapons to each sergeant or upgrade to Landspeeder typhoon w/multimelta with 10pts left over.

500pt lists are hard. Never really attempted one. I'm trying to paint up a 750 list to start from.

Or, you could drop one of the razorbacks, give that squad a meltagun and give the srg meltabombs and deep strike next to the most dangerous tank. This makes a 465pt list which allows you to upgrade the other razorback turret (twin lascannon/lascannon plasma). This gives you 3 decent anti tank options. Although with only one Razor, you'd need to drop the priest or give him a JP otherwise he'd be wandering around by himself. So many options, just by pushing points around here and there. Tricky.
