Last year I bought myself the 'Horns fo the Buffalo' set put out by Warlord. It is a fantastic set, loaded with resin, wood and plastic goodness. I assembled the figures and I''ve been slowly working on the terrain items while contracting the figure painting out to Blue Moose (just don't have the time right now...)

Over the last week I dig out the stuff I still need to work on with the hope/intention of fgetting a little more done over the coming weeks. I thought I would share some of the progress to date

First up, mealie bag barricades. These were easy to work on, my daughter helped out a little. I added platic rod as spent shell casings.

And the final redoubt:

And some wagon baricades:

Some stone kraal wall sections (daughter helped with the painting and vegetation on these):

Biscuit box barricades:

and some of the Zulus. Most of these are the ones from the set, but some are from Black Tree Design and from Wargames Factory. Again, Blue Moose painted these for me, using references I provided to get the shields right for the regiments I wanted.

I am currently working on a laser cut wagon, and then hope to knock out the tents and other smaller pieces before attempting the buildings. The British soldiers are done, as well as some Naval Brigade augmentees (I'm not going to limit my Anglo Zulu War gaming to just Rorkes Drift, and in fact want to expand to other African wars as I get the chance).

Thanks very much for these beautiful and inspiring pictures. My group has added Anglo-Zulu wars to it's list of projects and I have been looking for a good starting point.

Awesome! By the way, in the last picture the warning in the background is hilarious!

They came with the Horns of the Buffalo set, but you can get them without the set here:

They are the mealie bags. Great resin pieces! The whole set is just fantastic quality.

I assembled and slapped a quick coat of paint onto the the laser cut wagon. It is a great little kit.

Still needs to be weathered. Not sure when I'll get to that though.
