Subject: CoD BO2: is the connection the game breaker?
Note I dont own BO2 nor played any multiplayer of it besides some zombies so I'm wondering if any veteran cod players can chime in on this video I saw
This guy is basically saying that Blops2 isnt doing so hot these days is because of how the connections are in comparison to the older cods. Any truth to that? You'd think the flagship multiplayer fps would have the best types of servers to handle this stuff no?

The CoD games have had horrible servers since MW2 so this is nothing new (COD2 was wonky too on console but COD2 on console was just pointless on Multiplayer with the player cap). Treyarch themselves seem to be very battle at handling them though, as BLOPS was also very bad.
His assessment in the video is roughly accurate imo, but honestly the CoD games have had messed up Metagames since the first game (What's that you're team's Americans? M1 you win!) so this isn't really new so much as much worse than in previous entries. CoD has been a dead series of competitive play since MW2 and anyone pretending otherwise should be laughed at. IW and Treyarch make no attempts at all to balance the game play what so ever.

The dude in the vid has a point but these issues are old and created by console cod crowd. The "skirmishes" as he call them have been around since ut 99 and almost completely destoyed by cod (thank Hi-Rez for tribes:ascend).
Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.
Well at least there's the campaign.

I've been playing the original Black Ops and I must say it's getting on my nerves, more so than when I started playing it. I notice now that since I've tried sniping and quickscoping it is really showing how bad the connection issues are.
In one game I played today, I shot a guy, but I got killed because I lagged behind a bit and I was dead before I could get another shot off. My connection isn't great, 3 bars out of 5 at the best of times, but I sort of expect every game to be ok and fair instead of a bunch of good connections against bad ones.

There was also a known "bug" in Black Ops that was to cut down/eliminate quickscoping that when you zoomed in for the shot, it would purposely have the shot off target of the crosshairs. Upon original release, it was extremely noticeable and they cut the time down, but it's still there. It could have been lag, or it could have been this "bug" (more of a feature if they put it in purposely).
The connection issue has always been bad since they moved from "dedicated" servers to "hosted" servers using player connections as the basis of support for hosting the individual games.
