So now that I finally got my copy of the Paradiso book (that was terribly delayed but well worth the wait.) I think it's time to start cranking out some Paradiso themed terrain. Jungle, military outposts and a ton of objective markers.
I'm not going to construct a themed board myself but some modular Paradiso pieces is a given. And I want to make all the required objective markers as well. Might be a bother as you need like. 12 of the drop pod objectives for 302!
So my idea was that we could have a thread were we all post what we got going on as we construct Paradiso terrain, objective markers and other things for the campaign. That way we can get inspiration from eachother!
So what do you guys have going on at the Paradiso front?

I've asked for a bunch of aquariaum terrain for my board. I want to do a Yu Jing Taoist Jungle monastery. It actually goes with the fluff that the city of Chenling, the YJ religious hub, is part of the new combined army front line.

Making up markers atm.
Terrain will have to wait.

Local aquarium supplies get cleaned out before I get to them, leaving nothing but the dregs (wouldn't even count as low shrubberies.)

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Hmmm, just made a load of aquarium plant area terrain for my desert board and got loads left over. I could cut some more based and really flood the table with them.

Check out dollar stores for horrible little fake plants.

Some of those plastic aquarium plants and other stuff can be painted too. If anything you can hit them with some matte finish to bring down the plastic shine.

Have textured and now part-way through flocking a table. Bought a load of cheap trees which is going to give it more of a 'german forest' rather than a 'south american jungle' look, which I realise isn't strictly correct in terms of what the Paradiso book describes - but I'm going on some of the artwork here, and perhaps not all of the world would be covered in sweltering equatorial-type climate?

Otherwise I'm probably going to sub in some MaS apartments I made for my city board, as well as oil refineries etc. and depending on when Warmill actually release it, one of their new larger buildings to use as some kind of 'research station'.

Hopefully will post some pics soon!

Paradiso's vegetation does not strictly have a "real world" equivalent. It is more like the vegetation we see described when a Tyranid fleet invades; that kind of vegetation which can overrun a clearing within a day of being burnt back with flamethrowers.

Yeah, since Paradiso isn't earth you have leeway in how the plants look.

So far I've made the twelve Crash coffins out of toilet paper rolls. Cut in half at a diagonal angle to make it appear that they crashed into the ground at an angle. They look uh well. Like painted toilet paper rolls. But they didn't cost me anything except a lot of time.

Great minds think almost alike Hindenburg. After a post on the official forum i started to make some toilet roll holders into tree stumps. They are just the right size for blocking LOS to most models and providing cover.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

I'm still waiting for MAS to release a load of the stuff for Paradiso that was actually previewed some months ago. Hopefully won't be too long now?

In the meantime thinking of running an 'Acontencimento' campaign using some modified campaign rules from the Paradiso book.

Buying the amount of needed objectives from MAS will probably be horribly expensive.

I was going to forage for sticks to use as tree trunks and fallen trees but the foot of snow outside is a bit of a bummer.

Well, I don't have the paradiso book, but I have been building series of small buildings to populate my table (40K ruins are horrible for sight lines and I just don't have enough!)

I like the style of the walkway. Is it covered in mesh? Looks great. And yeah for playability with Infinity 40k ruins are a big nono. Solid blocky buildings are best for playability I think as they have clear defined edges to take cover behind.

The walkway was 20 minutes in the making. Foamcore, peterboro, a single length of plastic T beam, 2 X 25mm bases and the mesh. Oh and empty debit machine rolls for the columns.
