Howzit everyone,

So I picked up the The Hobbit - Escape From Goblin Town -LE. Here's a little review of it:

Overall, it's typical GW quality for starter sets. Most of the figures are molded in one piece. Only a few miniatures require assembly. The figures look great considering that most of them are one piece. I think the only disappointment is the Goblin Scribe. The detail on the figure is rather soft relative to the other figures, nothing a good paint job could fix. The terrain is pretty limited to being fairly flat. I had to modify some of the supports to make them tiered. Overall, I'd say for what you pay for and what you get is fairly decent for the LoTR Series. Also, keep in mind that the LoTR minis tend to be a lot more the the WH40K, WH stuff. This is also true with the Hobbit, however, for me it feels like money well spent even though I will probably never play the game.

Here's some pictures of the diorama:
(Sorry, pictures are a little blurry due to being taken with a iPhone. Better pics will come with the final product.)

Looks great OP. I miss my LoTR models. I may have to dig them out and blow the dust off. Quick quizzie, hows the scale on the Dwarves?? In the GW pics they look way to huge to be dwarves but i wasnt sure whether that was because of a dodgy angled shot or something.

@Snrub-
The dwarves are pretty big, it's one of the things that puzzled me when I opened the box. Thorin is about as tall as the Mines Of Moria Aragorn.

Well done OP, nice diorama.

I think if I didn't watch the movie first and looked at the miniatures I would be disappointed. The miniatures are based on the the scale of the actors in the movie. In the movie Thorin is pretty tall. Actually he looks human sized. The movie versions of the dwarves didn't follow the stereotypical dwarf sizes. I think they looked at it as not all dwarves are short and squatty but can be of different shapes and sizes.
