Ok I have seen lists that run 3 Doom Scythes, so has anyone spent those points to run 3 Doomsday Arks behind an ADL with any success? I could see running a pair of them in 2000pt games, but I don't know if you could make your points back unless you were fighting a MEQ list.

Not sure if they'd even get the cover save bonus right now...need to check the book.

They would not get a save from an ADL. You need minimum 25% of the model covered, and with the height, you won't get more than maybe 10% covered.

I think the biggest disadvantage is you can't move in order to fire the big blast, which scatters. Cover saves make it so so and the two guass flayer arcs are largely useless on it. IMO, I think it is still a great choice for a terminator heavy meta or hordes but 3 seem impractical when you have better options. Like Doom scythes or annihilation barges and spyders.

If you are fighting a MEQ heavy list then actually I have had pretty good success with a Monolith and its 8 3 large blast plus added maneuverability with the portal on the front

Opinions are like donkey-caves, everyone has them and they all stink.

I had a similar thought about putting the Ark behind an ADL, but then I realised... why not put it on a Skyshield Landing Pad?

Remember kids, LRBT's are like cheap beer. One is crap, 3 is ok, and every one you get after that is better than the last.
