I've recieved a bunch of Zombies and contemplating grabbing Typhus.
I'm interested in anyone that has been test running Zombies, I've tried to put some lists together but it looks lacking in the shooty department.
So guys, how much success have you had with your Zombies and what additional components are you adding to your lists to make it competetive?
How many Zombies are you running? I was considering one max sized squad for Typhus and then a few 10 man squads for home objectives + a few units of plague marines.
All thoughts from actual game play experience welcome, thanks.

The lack of shooting does not really detract from zombies, the reason you get them is for the FnP. They are hard to kill, especially in large numbers. They don't do too well in close combat, having a hard time against MEQ.
In terms of experiences:
- A Chaos player I know runs 40 - 60 of them in every game. He camps the zombies out on objectives and lets people come at him. His logic is that you can't kill 20 zombies in the time you have to play the game, so no one is going to win that point (and it's not like anyone is going to wipe out a unit of zombies). They work really well for his style of play, paired up with PMs and Nurgle Terminators.

why run typhus in a large squad of zombies? FNP is nice, but typhus already gives them fearless. Regular cultists have twice the number of attacks though and pistol shots.

Oddly enough i find regular cultists are one of his best bodyguards. Biggest thing for zombies is loss of run. I would run them in units of 10 to 20 at most. Anymore is very difficult to get around cover and then get stuck in cover very easily.
Also not being able to go to ground is rough
Honestly i would only run them in large numbers if they were my only troops and i was spending the rest of my points on pure offense choices. I find that with typhus being a point sync and definatly not wanting as my warlord (opens up his uses alot when you are not as worried about him dying) . Offense points are hit pretty hard.

It depends on what role you want them to have. I usually run 1-2 35 man blocks to hold the back and tie up anything forever in CC. Meanwhile the rest of my army moves up to engage where ever they see fit. Putting both squads behind and aegis is also a useful trick, 4++,5+++, makes them super hard to shift. Keep Typhus on the quad gun next to them, so if you need him to help out in assault he can.
One thing to remember is that Zombies also have champions, which means you can challenge actually you have to. I've tied up Beliel in CC for 2 rounds with one.
