As suggested I went with a bold gradient
crappy cell pic

Gloss coat still on the model, that's why it's shiny

Goofed up a few parts I need to re-paint. Don't be in a hurry when painting, it never turns out well.

that is a real impressive model so far. Excellent shading and blending of the colors. I like seeing pruple models, not many of them in the 40k universe....very bold!

How do you get such a wonderful purple colour? And whats with the yellow tape on the sword?

Guys thanks for the kind words. This model has been a serious pain in the butt: from paint failures to a generally featureless model.. I'm sad I have a second one to paint.

The tape is masking tape - i use it to achieve the NMM look, which I'm still learning.

The purple is vallejo model violet and the highlight it vallejo model blue violet

Again I really appreciate the comments. I'm going to try and finish this today.
