I've liked the Grey Knight Dreadknights for a long time but it's just recently I found a way of utilising one in my Imperial themed dioramas. A Death Korps conversion!

The background of this thing is that it's a construction mech or a recovery vehicle - which is the title of my new diorama: "Recovery". Designed not for battle, but for rescue. It's purpose within the diorama is that it will be assisting the recovery of a trapped Shadowsword tank.

I never thought I would start a blog on this but it has turned into quite a big project now, so I thought it might be worth documenting.

This is the first dry test I did for the model (not including all the pieces either, just the BIG players). This is a very early "rendition", if you like, that I did to put it all into perspective outside of my sketchbook.

I have been super-detailing it for some time now, so much progress has since been made.

I will be uploading high quality detail pictures very soon.

Not keen on the 'jump pack' back, but otherwise this looks pretty good.

Nice use of Defiler claws, although I suggest covering the small amount of chaos spikyness still visible, unless it's supposed to represent a vehicle made from looted bits.

That looks awesome! Like Clang said, I'd suggest getting rid of the spiky trim, and doing a little more to cover the bit of Grey Knight script on the top of the arms, then the job will be a good'un. I quite like the jump pack though!

Glad to hear the work I've already put in to cover all that was worth it!

The jump pack is literally just stuck on here, there is a lot more to it now. I hope when you see it completed you may like it more. I know I do!

All the scripts are covered as well, so glad to hear it was worth the effort!
