Hey guys
I was wondering, are there people here who still play Confrontation?
What type of game is it?
I think I am just going to try and collect a few pieces (they are so expensive !) just because I love the miniatures, so playing the game would be an added bonus ^^
Are they going to kickstart a reboot of confrontation, does anyone know something about this?
Kind regards

You may want to hold off on buying the minis now as it looks like a full re-release is in the works- Confrontation: Phoenix Edition. I believe CoolMiniorNot owns all the Confrontation IP with the exception of the video game rights [which belong to Cyanide?]. The new miniatures [metal and resin] are planned to be priced competitively with other skirmish games and NOT in line with the Legacy miniatures pricing. The rules are going to be a rework of sorts of the 3.5 edition and no larger battle rules [Ragnarok] are currently planned. I'll let someone else tell you about the rules.
The minis are fantastic, and I have more than i can paint. Even if you don't like the rules, you can always use them for any number of skirmish games out there. I've included a couple of links below:

As some faction miniatures are availalbe on prepaint at negligible prices it is quite possible to stock up and wait for the Phoenix rules, or buy several armies and host Ragnarok games.
Ragnarok is great for hosting as you can buy four complete armies for little money all the rules and army books and provide everything for all other players.
I like hosting as you get the collection buzz and have everything so you collect all of one system while someone else collects all of another.

Ludik Bazaar has a TON of old Rackham metals for fairly cheap. I haven't bought from them in a few years but when I did they were fast, shipping was reasonable, and I was able to pick up some great boxed sets for under $50

Wait.
CMON is in preparation for a full reboot. It's taking some time because of mould deterioration, etc, but a Kickstarter is coming for it.
Confron 3.0 was a really fun game, so I have faith that Phoenix Edition will also be an equally great game.
But like I said, I encourage you to wait because the KS is coming, and then your minis will be much easier (and economical) to acquire.

Easier to acquire yes, but not more economical than any closeout/surplus deals you may be able to find now. Some figs are going to be rare and expensive until they are re-released, but as for the rest: as long as you are willing to risk units being changed, nerfed, squatted, etc I'd stock up on any deals you can get before the new version is released.

I dunno...getting some integral models for many of the armies is going to be:
A) Very hard, and
B) Quite expensive
I'd wager if he were to wait, the Confron KS probably will be from $100-$150 for your full 50+ model army. I think that's probably much more economical than you'd be able to find it now.
Also, Plastic > Metal. I'll die a happy man if I never have to pin a Rackham metal model again

I acknowledged that some figs are rare and expensive, but if you can find closeouts and overstocks now (especially on the plastic prepaints) on units you'd likely use in 3.0 I'd grab them ASAP.
LIkewise, if the return of AT-43 was announced, I'd advise folks to buy the good deals that still exist now!

Some of those pre-paints are/were very high quality.

Respectfully, compared to the metals I think they're simply much inferior. But to each his own I suppose.

Yes, I meant the prepaints. They're not as fine as the metals, but my friend has a batch of the werewolfs rebased and they're quite nice models.
They're not coming back most likely, so if there are transferrable units, then now would be a good time to put grab some base units for a low price.

Give them a wash, they're actually much better detailed than the factory paint suggests. According to Jean Bey, the same masters that they used on the metals were used for the plastics. Unlike AT-43, the Confrontation plastics should be considered "base coated" rather than "pre-painted".
