When a pod come to game the unit inside how far can go

"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."Leman Russ |

As far as a unit that is disembarking is normally allowed to be placed. They don't actually get to move, only disembark. The rules of which can be found in the Transport rules, part of the vehicle section.

The guy's from iceland, so his bad english makes sense. What doesn't is the amount of posts he seems to make asking for standard rules.

Kind of rude... There are some facets to the rules that can be hard to read/understand, even some of the basic ones... The forum is full of people asking questions about basic rules...
It is a good question because through deep strike, most vehicles count as having moved (cruising speed IIRC) so the units inside can only depart 2 inches where as if it only moves combat speed they can disembark 6. I don't have the rule book in front of me, but having just started playing a drop pod army myself, I have also wondered about this question to be sure I am not over moving my units.

You cannot normally disembark if a vehicle moves over 6", not 2"

Where are you getting a 2" disembark from?

Umm... That rule has been changed since 6th.
All disembarks are 6 inches from a hatch/vehicle. No movement after that. Drop pods have special rules that force the contents to disembark the turn they land but they still get the full 6 inches.

Right on, just was going from memory (a big no no for sure). Like I said, I didn't have my rulebook right here. That helps me out then. It's crazy how the basic stuff gets overlooked. Thanks again!

Who is? And what difference does that make to the rules for disembarking?
