Hey there welcome to my project log! I received The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey as a Christmas gift. This is really going to be a big undertaking for me since this is my first miniature game in 5 years. I don't have much experience with painting armies, I'm more of a showcase painter. But I am sure my skillset can really help me to get the most out of these miniatures. I'm going to try to avoid techniques like washing and drybrushing, because I want to have more control over the shading and highlighting, and I want maximum contrast.
My first goal is to paint up enough miniatures for the first scenario: 12 goblins (I'm going to paint a sprue of 18 in one go), a goblin character, 4 dwarfs and then the scenery.
At this point I have spent about 5-6 hours of painting on the figures. Which means 15-20 minutes per model. The skin is finished.
Wow, looking good!
Can't wait to see how you do with the dwarves!

I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles. corpsesarefun: Thank god I missed be nice to shrike day. greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid.
I'm very interested in seeing how this turns out. I received Escape From Goblin Town for Christmas, and I understand your desire to get the most out of the miniatures; it's not a cheap set.
I love what you've done so far, especially considering the small amount of time you did it in. The skin on the Goblins I've painted so far looks about the same, but that's after about an hour per model, and using washes.
Thank you everyone for the comments. The plan is to paint up the Goblin Captain or the other Goblin character on camera for a how to paint video on YouTube.
Speaking about YouTube, I also started a project log there. I recommend you watch them in 720p full screen. Sorry about the thick accent, English isn't my mother tongue I'm Dutch speaking (Flemish in fact).
excellent work (especially with only 20 minutes per model)- subscribed!

Impressive work, I love watching other peoples painting, it's inspirational and it is also a good way of pinching other peoples idea's and the way they work, techniques and things on their desks.
Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!
Nice work! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the characters and the scenery. Your video is very easy to understand, so don't worry about the accent.
