Subject: Heating Resin?

I've recently bought a set of Forge World Resin Salamander Terminator Pauldrons (Dunno why they call them Shoulder Pads ) for my Terminator Assault Squad. Upon fitting them, all but one fit. However, the one that does not fit has a molded Salamander-scale hide dropping down which, while being aesthetically pleasing, means I cannot fit the pauldron onto a Lightning Claw arm. I could try to mangle it to fit, or try to use a hammer arm (which doesn't fit well either), but having waited for these pauldrons I would rather keep them intact. So I come to my question: Is there anyway to gently heat the resin so that it's pliable to gently bend the hide so it drapes over the arm, but doesn't damage the detail.
 Any help would be appreciated

It'll soften up in warm water but be gentle as the detail will also be soft.

Hmmm, may be worth a go - I was going to try to apply a miniature solder Iron a distance from the back of the resin hide (where there is no detail), but I rather suspect that the heat is so intense that as soon I move the Iron close enough, it'll just melt straight through.

Hot water from the tap will be fine to reshape it.
DO NOT use boiling water from the kettle.

If you can't put your hand in it, it's too hot.
Depending on the size of the piece, 20-30 seconds should be adequate (use some soft touch tweezers to put it into the water and take it out).

I don't think I have 'soft touch tweezers', but I have got standard ones. Will they do or will they likely put indentations in it?
