Hello,

I had a little free time over the Christmas Holiday. I decided to attempt an Ork Warkpta scratch build out of some old plastic curtains, spare helicopter model parts, a Defkopta, and bits. I'll post updated pics as the work progresses.

Tom

Looks awesome so far.

Plastic curtains hmm? Not a bad idea....ive been meaning to find other materials that arent Plasticard to make stuff with and so far no luck. Plasticard is nice n all but its too thin for some projects and it doesnt do bends very well.

Hope to see this bad boy finished soon!

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Don't worry, it's far from finished. I have a whole pile of Dakka to add on !

I agree the Plasticard bends too easy and it's not exactly cheap if your doing large scratch builds. Here is a pic of the plastic "blinds" (wife corrected me, they are not curtains lol).

The one on the left is a thin vertical blind and the one on the right is a fairly thick horizontal blind. I didn't buy any of these new just for modeling. I have accumulated them over the past year thanks to the wear and tear my lovely children put on the doors and windows of our home.

I added some Dakka this afternoon. I used 2x Bigbomms from the Ork Flyer kit. I cut down some bomb mounts out of the 1980s ork biker spruces then magnetized them for game play and bomb/weapon sharing with other models in my army. I added a front mounted Deffgun/Rattler Cannon to the original Deffkopta front missile mounts. I left 2x missile incase I want to use missile in a game. I still need to put the big shoota somewhere. I also need to sand down or cover up the green stuff on the bottom joints. No one will really see it I guess.

Thanks for looking

Tom
