Well I am thinking about doing a warhammer 30k force. I'm not sure which legion to choose though, I mean I like the idea of the sons of Horus and how they get the drop pods automatically and the justaerin but I really wouldn't mind doing an entire world eaters company, I'm thinking 32nd assault company. Can someone help me chose wich one and why?

Ignore legion-specific the rules in the first book, since it's only the first legions of many. Choose your army based on the colors/theme/etc that you want to play, and use the generic legion list while waiting for the appropriate book to arrive to give you your specific rules. Settling for one of the first legions just because they were first is just a good way to end up disappointed when a new book arrives.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Peregrine has the right idea, if you pick one now just based on the rules that are out, you might not end up liking it, however - if the fluff of the world eaters and sons of horus are you favourite then go for it, and between those two, I'd say the world eaters, because I've seen more people doing sons of horus (including me! )

I really do like the idea of the world eaters, they seem pretty cool, I also like the thought of a mid heresy great company of space wolves led by a captain in terminator armour it would be quite cool

Alpha Legion. It's always Alpha Legion, even when it's not.

Which army would be the most fun to paint?
Have you read any of the HH books? If so, which Legion appeals to you the most?

Having started my Imperial Fist Legion (First 500 points done), I commend you for considering it.
That said, pick the one whose fluff, color scheme, and theme you like.
The HH list is very versatile, and is quite capable of fielding fluffy armies that can stand up on the tabletop. I consider 30k an opportunity to experience the fluff of an unexplored part of the mythos.
If you ignore this factor, its just another 40k list; nothing special, so why bother.
Good luck!

Thanks guys these comments are really helpful. Im not positive but I think I will go for world eaters. Only problem is, a lot of people do them and if I did them I would have to make them "distinguished" any ideas how? Automatically Appended Next Post: Ps sorry if I sound lacking in ideas but I really care what they turn out like so any comments on it would be very helpful!

If you have the book; a good way to run your army a unique way would be to use one of the Rites of War the Praetors offer.
Angel's Wrath would be pretty sick for World Eaters; having all your Jump Pack troops use Hit and Run makes some sense with their fluff, as well as sounding mean on the table.
Pride of the Legion is a fun move too; running loads of WE Termies and Vets would be interesting. Cheap too; much less models to buy.

£75 is a bit steep though and I want to save for the istavaan IV book and the siege of the imperial palace. Not sure if the budget will stretch to £225!

I decided to do Emperor's Children simply because I think Fulgrim will be the next primarch model released and I'm not interested in Angron. Automatically Appended Next Post:
Yes, yes you do because this book really is that cool.
