inspired by another post about footslogging stuff, I really want to know if I Can make a list of all footslogging Necrons. My idea is to have several squads of Warriors backed up by resurrection orb HQ's and ghost arks. As the metal tide pushes forward, the quads regenerate their losses.

Maybe for fun, have a few stalkers for the Twin-linked goodness.

Yes. I run footsloggers more often than airforce, and although it isnt the best type of Necron Force, it does still work.

But you deffinately need at least one Scythe (usually Doom), just to have something decent against the other flyers.

Experience is something you get just after you need it

^Not necesarily, annihilation barges are very good at dropping flyers, mine have downed atleast half a dozen vendettas in 6th edition so far.

It's even possible to be sort-of competitive with all footslogging necrons if you really concentrate on spamming warriors. A 20 man warrior squad has a decent chance of dropping a flyers if it comes within their rapid fire distance. I think an army of a 100 warriors with a lord or an overlord in each 20 man squad could actually work. IIRC, someone actually won an RTT-level tournament with something like that.

Number = Legion

Short answer is 'it depends.'

Long answer is it depends on your local meta game as well as if you want to play in tournaments.

The Helldrake has changed the overall meta by making the emerging footsloging style far, far more dangerous. Indeed, when 6th came out, and transport become more vulnerable, there was a general acceptance that footsloging was a viable alternative for the new edition. However, the new helldrakes make footslogin, especially for an army like necrons a potential liability as the baleflamers and vector strikes will just annhilate foot units.

Outside of the new chaos, necron footblobs will suffer against armies like DE venom spam, and of course will always suffer against enemy footblobs like orks and nids. While resilient against alot of small arms, and non-pie plate high strength, shooting, necron will just melt against enemy foot blobs due to our low iniative and sweeping advance.

So in sum or tl;dr, footblobs work against MEQ style shooting, but melt against much of everything else in the game.

Not sure why you would take a Doom vs other flyers considering their main gun can't hit a flyer.

On topic though, yes Silver tide works and is a bit bothersome to move.

Of course they can, all it takes is an understanding of the codex and to stop spamming nercon net lists.

For example:

I've played a foot list with a good deal of success in 6th, and people find it to be a refreshing change from flier spam, or wraith spam. that isn't to say you should eschew them entirely, they do after all add in some welcome tactical flexibility. But, a few large units of warriors, some minimum sized squads with crypteks, and annihilation barges builds up both a very tough AV-13 wall, as well as having a goodly quantity of footsloggers is certainly viable. its not as fast on its feet as other builds, but can have suprising resilience due to the res orbs and ghost arcs, watch out for dedicated assaults and ordnance though, they can really spoil your day.
Spyders synergise well with the army and keep your vehicles in the fight longer, and you can use them as the basis of a small scarab farm should you so choose

They can, but its a lot more difficult due to them not being Recyclable via Ark

I play against one pain full list of footcron with 2 tranports. The list looks roughly like this at 1850 of the top of my head:

Imotek
3 crypteks
1D-Lord with warsycth and MMs
6 Wraiths
4 warrior blobs, want to say 12,12,15,15
6-8 base scarab far,
2 Spiders
2 Night sythes
5 deathmarks

The Swarm and wraithstar keep a lot of pressure off the rest of the arrmy for the first 2 turns, then around turn 4 the flyers start drop droppings

Had some success with 2 big warrior bricks with overlord and dual cryptrks, backed up by 2 ghost arks, 3a. Barges and 3 min sized warriors squads with double teks as my core.

If you don't want to spend points on arks, 10 man squads work pretty well. Big enough that their shooting can do some damage. Small enough that them getting whipped out won't hurt as much.
I like having at least one ten man immortal squad around as well. Str 5 tesla rarely disappoints, the 3+ armor really helping them hold objectives.
I could never go full footslog though. I likes me my annihilation barges too much, and night scythes are excellent for reaching out and blasting something hiding on the back end.

cool! I mainly mean to have the core be footslogging, and maybe have a few ghost arks around to resurrect D3 guys. The stalkers would be there to make big targets twin-linked.

Those Stalkers will get smoked if you don't add in more armor saturation. Running only a few armored targets makes it so all of the anti-tank shooting will down them very fast. Necrons really excell at AV13 saturation though, so if you wanted footslogging as your core, just make sure to back it up.

Imotekh is pretty good in a foot list, as the Night fighting and his lightning can help Survive and pick up some of the longer range Anti-tank you'll be missing.

Imotekh, Stalkers/Warriors/Arks and a Few Abarges is probably the best config you can get for a Silver Tide.
