Hi guys,

I am in no way a rule writer just a simple normal bloke however i have always wanted to have a blast at trying to make a codex just for fun. Below i have a list of ideas that i want to put into a sisters fandex, i honestly dont think we will ever see a new sisters dex but never-the-less this is what i would like to see in a sisters dex if it was updated. Constructive criticism is a must but i if you really hate my idea please dont be too insulting or spiteful i apprecaite all helpful comments, as i said its just for fun and at this point im just tossing ideas around and i dont see why people would need insults to get their point across. The below list is broken into the FOC and what unit i would put in each with a brief description and changes to the unit, it is incomplete at the moment and nothing more than idea that needs a vast amount of work and expansion but i thought it would be best to get some gamers views on this before investing too much time. so please read my ideas and hopefully with enough support i will give myself the greenlight and get this fully done fluff and all by the end of the month.

Codex Ecclesiarchy

HQ
• Uriah Jacobus
• Arch confessor Krynov
• Saint Celestine
• Cannoness Venetica (Shooty HQ – allows retributors as Elites, take heavy weapon and targeter (+1 bs to squad))
• Father Jonah (level 3 psyker – Blast template on death)
• Confessor (chaplain style HQ bonus to combat)
• Priest (uses holy powers to buff and protect– Psyker level 2/1)
• Cannoness (sisters of battle leader)
• Soroitas command squad (relic holder (banner), special weapon options)
Elites
• Celestians (veterans as basic squad with Higher stats and pts)
o Celestian Miriya (named squad leader upgrade – stubborn, make squad infiltrate or scout)
o Witch finder General Price (named witch finder removes 0-1 limit on zealots)
• Witch finder (inquisitor of ordo hereticus working alongside sisters - anti psyker – allows use of zealots)
• Battle conclave (unlocks with Priest/confessor; Death cult assassins, arco flag, Crusaders)
• Paragon (dreadnought style – Fallen sister)
• Blessed (Holy armour 2+ save and +1 to holy save – Blessed weapons (power weapons re-rolls to W) can take jump packs can accompany Celestine)
Troops
• Battle sisters (as current Stats)
• Zealots ( 0-1 initally a rabble but will have upgrades to make them inline with imperial guard/arbites – can use Chimera)
• Disciples (trainee sisters? low ws/bs – Ordo fratenis/militia)
Fast Attack
• Seraphim (remove jump packs for free Transport)
• Angelus bikers (Sisters on bikes)
• Dominions (scout infiltrate special weapons)
Heavy support
• Cremator Flame tank (Predator armour – 2x Torrent flamers)
• Penitent engines (rage, will not die, blood talon style attacks)
• Chantry Bomber/Fighter (Flier – Cleansing Bombs (Napalm), array of heavy weapons)
• Exorcist (2D6 Krak missiles or large blast that ignores cover light armour)
• Retributors (Heavy weapon squad)

Transport
• Rhino (storm bolter may be replaced with Combi weapon)
• Chimera (for zealots only)
• Retributor (forge world model)
• Shrine of judgement (chariot for priests – challenges bonus for winning)
• Immolator (reducted points – on par with razorback)

Additional comments and plans:
• All sister units get a holy save of 6+.
• Vehicle upgrade will include holy upgrades buffing and protecting the vehicle.
• Armour and weapons will include lists of holy equipment including: holy armour (2+ save, +1 holy save) and blessed weapons to make sisters CC this is 2 of many planned idea to expand the sisters armoury.
• Faith Tokens upon killing enemy units, stacking bonuses:
o kill 1 enemy = re-roll LD tests,
o kill 2 enemies = +1 holy save,
o Kill 3+ enemies = Re-roll failed saves.
• Addition of more named special characters

In all honesty, the 3e Codex is actually quite playable at this exact moment; I'd rather see an Acts of Faith system that worked more like that than a clone of Power from Pain.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Are we talking 3rd edition Chapter Approved WD Codex? Because I would love to see that updated to 6th edition.

thank you for your honesty, that was the sort of comment i am after. the last thing i want to do is make a Dex thats not even as 1/2 as good as the current dex and waste hours of my time.

In all seriousness, if you can find a copy of the 3rd edition Chapter Approved codex, that would be a great start.

Update the weapons to 6th edition standards, fix any profile differences (Exorcists are only AP3 in that edition) add in battle conclaves and you'll be off to a great start.

It had a solid faith system and the same units that we all know and love.

Pretre, cheers for the reply. i was a bit disheartened my the WD update, i prefer the Witch hunters codex still . hmm the other custom dex is quite good, its irritating i havent come across it.

No, I'm talking about the 2001 WD Codex. That's the one that really had the best version of the Sisters rules since they started. Better than the WD codex unless you liked Inquisition.

I think if you took the 2001 WD Codex, added Penitents, Battle Conclaves and some of the newer additions from C:WH and the newer WD, you'd have a pretty solid book.

I'll have to pull my copy off the shelf, but off the top of my head it had:

Canoness
Battle Sisters
Dominions
Celestians
Retributors (cheap heavy flamers and heavy bolters)
Exorcists (before there was ever a model)
Redemptionists
Immolators (HF or MM)
Rhinos
Priests and Missionaries/Confessors

Acts of Faith were a straight Leadership Check and there were a couple:
The Passion: +1A, +1 Init
Divine Guidance: 6 to wound Ignored Saves
Spirit of the Martyr: 4 or 5+ to stand back up after failing a save
Light: Regroup power
