Just a matter of opinion, I personally find the design of the old metal cadians much nicer compared to the new plastics! They look alot more like normal, current-day soldiers while the new Cadians look like something out of Starship Troopers; which while is one of my favorite films I find not what I'd want to collect. There doesnt seem to be a "current day" design for IG anymore.

I do. The helmets on the newer models bother me. Then again, I had Cadians way, way back in the day, and still have more than a hundred of them lying around, lol.

I prefer the newer sculpts. The old lasweapons looked too cartoony and that plasma gun is godawful

If they brought back the old design, made it in plastic, and updated some of the weapons (like that plasma gun and maybe the lasgun) I would get them.

I concur, while the weapons look silly the helmets look much better; as does the armour.

I hope GW brings out some more "generic" imperial guard kits in which you could build guard from a variety of backgrounds, hive worlds, agri-worls, ect instead of just cadian/ vanilla, death world or space cossacks... Something with more kitbashing possibilities.

I think cadians are supposed to be generic. Just basic flakk armor and lasguns, nothing too special

I love the old metal cadians. I'm currently attempting to convert them. Only problem is I can't find helmets that do them justice.

Also, the artwork makes the older cadians look much better as well. If they had used that idea for the plastic cadians they would look awesome.

That's probably the paint. 2nd Edition had a hardon for dayglo weapons. A more subdued paintjob and it looks just fine.
