Good morning, dakka

Can anyone point me to a link that offers a brief overview of each army's play style(s)? I'm looking for things like typical army composition, general strategy (e.g. assault heavy, hit and run, alpha strike, etc) and so on. It's easy enough to find this for a single army, but I'm hoping to find this kind of info for all the 40k armies in one spot.

I ask for two reasons:

1. to get a rough feel for each army I may face on the other side of the table
2. to help me decide on which other armies might be fun to collect/play in the future

cheers

1d4chan has everything you will ever need for fluff, tactics, and laughs.

I wouldn't use 1D4chan except for a very "generalized" look at armies.

It's very poor when it comes to most things.

I usually stick to Google or Dakka for stuff like that. here's a section of Dakka that has some of what you may be looking for

Rubbish! Where else should I go when I want tactical army comparison on the same page as naughty pictures?

I notice my posts seem to bring threads to a screeching halt. Considering the content of most threads on dakka, you're welcome.

I agree, but at the same time I disagree. I found the unit summaries and tactics to be pretty spot on with what I hear on Dakkadakka. Only difference being on 1D4chan it tends to be more...."vulgar" hahaha

If you can read it with the right mindset, it's actually really useful. Of course, you gotta be horrifically warped by the internet to get that mindset.

I think 1d4chan gets more flakk then it deserves, I've found it to be one of the few places on the net that actually gives a no BS approach to tactics for armies while at the same time not taking itself seriously. If there is a bad unit in your codex it won't try to make it more than it is or come up with a convulated reason as to why it can be good, it'll say its gak and why.

Ofcourse as others have mentioned, this site is NSFW.
