Picked up the boxed set last week, love painting the models. Much more fun than marines

Colour in the top image is the most accurate, still learning the new camera.

I noticed these are a bit smaller than the older models, by almost a head.

That yellow looks tasty! The osl and the green contrast for the gun are also great points to this model. His pants are ridiculous, but I suspect you had little to do with them. Great stuff!

Wow, really lovely paint on this. The yellow is exceptional, I love the orange and ochre undertone it has. I also like how you've tied the aqua-toned light color into the color of the highlight on the black pants. The simple white base really makes him shine too.

I think my only critique is that the camo green gun color is all alone on the model, I think I'd like to see a little hint of it somewhere else, like on his sidearm. Just a minor thing, doesn't detract from the quality of the paint itself.

Incredible work as usual, sir. Are you playing the game as well as painting the models?

Agreed on the light blue, those points tie it all together and the contrast in the major colors energizes the pose. I like the green being isolated to the weapon, it makes a nice disconnect between the two. Pics are good too, new camera is working fine!

Thanks for the kind feedback guys

I'm really happy with the yellow, it's a colour I've always wanted to use more but it just didn't fit in anything else I was working on. It never really fit the gritty nature of 40k, or the rustic nature of any of the fantasy armies for Confrontation.

While I agree the "Hammertime" pants are a bit goofy, they were actually a selling point for me. Everyone in this game wears armour, so I like the variety.

The suggestion of green in the pistol is a good one; I'll give that a try on the next model. Thanks!

I haven't played Infinity yet, but Plastictrees has challenged me to a game. We're both furiously painting away to be ready for February. "Furiously" might be a bit of an overstatement, of course. But we're both making progress.

Missed this despite spending too much time flopping around Dakka lately.

Looks great, obviously, as if I needed another reason to want to strip all my models, you are a terrible person.
I've always loved yellow/black schemes. There was that nicely done Emperor's Scythes marine army years back.

Looking forward to seeing that yellow on some of the Yu Jing heavy infantry.

The newer stuff is definitely smaller, a lot like the old/new Confrontation minis.

Are you planning to repaint the Yu Jing stuff you'd already painted to match this scheme more closely?

I'm tempted to paint the older stuff, but I'll finish the new ones and see if I'm still interested. The difference in scale makes me less likely to revisit them. I'm a scale nazi.

I remember the Emperor's Scythes army and website; loved 'em. I've been wanting to justify using yellow and black ever since I've also seen a few eldar armies that looked fantastic. The secret for great yellow seems to be using a rich brown in the shadows to add depth, otherwise it just feels flat and out-of-place.
