I have been plotting what my Brotherhood legionaires are going to look like for some time. Long story sort they are not connected to the imperium or chaos, were founded during the Horus heresy and will either wear Mk II crusade, Mk III Iron or Mk IV maximus pattern armour. I am still making the story but I have created there founding. This is a colour scheme I have created for the Brotherhood.

What is their combat "ethos". i always thought the Iron armoru was the nicest (iron Warriors player bias not withstanding). but it also look s very clunky and, i think, more suited to an army that favours a direct war of atriction sort of combat.

A phaanx of iron armoured marines trudging up the field firing big-a$$ guns for example. backed up by even bigger and trudgier Cataphractii terminators.

You could make them a second founding chapter but not a first founding legion as we know a lot about those legions.

And if they started out in that period you'd use MKII crusade and MkIII iron armour.

The Brotherhood will be using assault marines and jetbikes more than anything

Not bad. I do like red and white as a scheme. But I think there should be less red. Just mainly white with a few red accent pieces, maybe just the shoulder pads and bolter, perhaps the chest eagle. It's just my preference, I feel that too many red bits would just make it look cluttered....and it looks like he's wearing running shoes.

the boots look bad but if I take too much red off the armour than it would like the white scars.

The story is complicated but a space marine was created then lost and he formed his own legion. plus the maximus armour was made a while before the heresy.
