Hello, not sure if this should be under "Tactics", but I figured I would give it a shot. I am trying to figure out a good way to hide a formation(a very special tank, Chimera sized, with some units) from long range weapons and D weapons. It needs to survive until turn 2(3 if possible if I roll bad on turn 2) and needs to be on the table turn 1. It will be a high priority target at our next apoc game. I figured I would try to use terrain to block line of sight to it completely as this "tank" has a barrage weapon anyway. I will be using a Defence Laser, so possibly hide it in the corner behind that? There is also the Containment Fence, so it could atleast get a cover save. I also will be using a warhound, so I will be trying to take out his D weapons before they take out mine...

If you play Apoc, how would you try to do this?
Also, another note to mention; Its standard force org with super heavies allowed, but only 3000pts per player.

Your vortex missile will be destroyed on turn 1, just accept it and move on. Unless your opponents are terrible at Apocalypse and bring no barrage weapons at all it will be shot to death by Basilisks/Minotaurs/etc as soon as the game begins, and your chances of surviving long enough to fire are nonexistent.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Put it right at the very corner. This way, there is a greater chance that enemy blasts will scatter off the board.
