Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

When painting white, should I do black primer then a light grey then white or black then bleach bone then white or black primer, light grey, bleach bone then white?
I am using a black primer because on my Night Lords, if seems like the white comes out better on a dark surface but at the same time, I want to do this on larger areas of white than lighting bolts and horns which comes out pretty nice.

I don't really understand your question, but if you want to paint a model that is predominantly white, use white or grey primer. Seriously. White on black primer is certainly doable, but a complete waste of time when you can easily go to Home Depot, Lowes, or an automotive store and get a nice automotive primer for a few bucks and save yourself a lot of frustration.
If you are just painting white lightening over a dark blue armor, work your way up to white using progressively lighter blues.

Actually Ive just started to do this.
Black primer
White primer dusting
Doing that, make sure you dont fully cover the model in white, but mostly, and be sure to leave the "shadow areas" with just a light dusting. Like under the arms/legs and so on. this already gives the model shade where it would really be.
Outside that....yea not really sure what youre asking here. You want white for the lightning bolts? Or white on the mini itself?! Im a bit confused

I've been pleased with the results on a model primed black when just using the GW Ceramite White paint over the undercoat - it covers quite well. However, that was on a Space Marine, I don't know how it would look on anything big.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics. |

This! Your basicaly pre-shading your models and if you play with the angles it will make things like OSL really pop.
