Hi!
So now I'm thinking of fleshing out a second army since I only need a few more stuff for my generic Haqq/ QK (if interested on how they look, click here! I'm stuck with two options in my mind: generic Ariadna with lots of camo tokens and Line Kazaks or a JSA army of, well, JSA Samurai. It would also serve as something my friends (or I) can use when doing intro games and such. So here are the lists:
Ariadna | 17 models

My thoughts on Ariadna: It looks like an extremely fun list. My problem is that I would need to buy 17 models for that, and I will end up having multiples.
My thoughts on JSA: It's cool! I have 6 Heavy Infantry! I haven't tried that before. Only it seems that there's a lot of people running JSA so minus points on being unique, but hey, I only need to buy a starter, a box set and a blister (and maybe another one for Shinobu, butt she can be represented by the Oniwaban in a pinch).
What do you think, guys?

I'd say go with the JSA. I also own Haqq and it is in some places pretty similar to Ariadna (low tech, not too many great Heavy options or Hackers, etc).
JSA would give you a different way to play Infinity, I think.

I'd also say JSA. They have less in common with Haqq and will give you something different with a lot more HI than Haqq!
So I agree with Alkasyn.

Having been walloped repeatedly by Ariadna's Kazak and Camo spam, I'd have to say that is a quite overwhelming list. 17 orders!

I think JSA would be a change from what you had before. I went to CA after YJ because I wanted something that could be my own "bad guys" and they are really different.

Go for the Ariadna army, then again I am not a fan of the Japanese. If you can add a AP HMG to the line Kazak for extra fun.

I actually use Tuaregs so TO Camo is ever present in my lists. This is what I usually use in 300 points:
Haqqislam | 10 models

 Asawira Spitfire (59|2)

 Odalisque Shotgun (24|0)
 Fiday Mines (33|0)
 Tuareg Sniper (35|0.5)
 Hawwa' Sniper (29|0.5)

So what I'm looking for is something that would be a great opponent for that list.

Because they're squeezing in the other more popular goodiegood things: Hafzas, viral ammos and such.
I like planting mines on everything. At first I used a Hunzakut speedbump for mines, until I discovered that the Fiday can take mines. I also like the Jannisary doctor, since both him and the Asawira will most likely be in the front lines (and the Asawira can heal himself, making the Jannisary a pseudo-Asawira).

I don't usually play shell games with the Tuareg. Hidden deployment and minelaying is enough, and that -6 BS against the Tuareg (-9 with cover) helps out a whole lot in winning Ftf rolls. Turning it into a doctor is also a good "oooh surprise I heal my Unconscious model in the midfield" kind of shenanigans.

This, The ability to infiltrate, hidden deploy, and then pop out to heal a guy midfield when you opponent thought that was way to far to get to is hilarious.

Rather than make a new thread, I figured I'd piggy back on this one (hope you don't mind heartserenade). I've been looking at numerous different armies for a second, and I keep hovering around three. Combined Army, particularly Morats. But while I like the Combined Army in a vacuum, I'm not a fan of them when sitting with the Infinity range. The second is Tohaa, but I'm still ocncerned about that ranges aesthetics. Kamael make me nervous for future releases. The third is PanO, in particular, Shock army of Aconcimento. I love the colour scheme and models it has available, with a mix of veteran light infantry backed up by medium Bagh-Mari and heavy Montesa knights. The 150pt list I put together looks like this (149, 2.5): Acontecimento Regular Lt Acontecimento Regular Combi Acontecimento Regular Combi Acontecimento Regular Spitfire Bagh-Mari Sniper Bagh-Mari Combi Montesa Knight Combi Anyone have any advice on how they play?

Kind of disappointing about the Knight of Montesa. Oh well, this is Infinity. I'll just make it work for me.

Knight of Montesa is plenty good, though the combi version is a little lackluster for the point cost. Balanced however since the statline and mech deploy is where the cost comes from.
With a spitfire this guy could be quiet the nightmare. If you have the first turn starting halfway up the board like an infiltrator could make for a really nasty 4 Shot BS14-17 surprise to an enemy.
That said, only version I'd really go for is the Spitfire version,

Had to read the threads to know what you meant Loki.... I dont know, just because those 2 guys dont like the Montesa as much as other models in the Shock Army doesnt mean they are bad (no model in Infinity is bad, as im sure you know). In fact, they seem to take up a valuable role in the Shock Army, fast, easy and hard to shift mid board holders....i wouldnt see that as disappointing myself....ARM 7 in cover with a LGL and Combi isnt a bad deal....neither is the Spitfire badassery (then again, i dont necessarily know if anything else in the Shock Army is good at this, but i would look at it as useful)

Yeah, that's what I meant by 'I'll make it work for me'. The main thing that's bothering me is the lack of other Kinght of Montesa models. I don't really want to go choppy choppy on it then have an official model release later. Not bad for a second army. I can make a 150pt army with just 5 blister packs.

I know dude, just wanted to put my thoughts on paper so to speak
i have to say that is the best thing about Infinity, the 'ill make it work for me' attitude, instead of the 'its not the best thing ever, i dont want to go near it'...

I think it's also possible to get another Knight and paint it like a Montesa. A Hospitaller or a Santiago will work, or even an Equestrian order.
I find it a bit funny that I'm really into knights (hey, look at my 40k army!) but I haven't even considered getting Military Order. Maybe I just want a bit of change.

That's more down to Corvus Belli making such a nicely balanced game.
Every time I see someone say 'Man, that unit is terrible, I won't go near it', five people pop up and say how awesome it is and how they've used it.
While it's never bothered me, since I don't really care about using over or under powered stuff, it's nice to see a game finally get it right. Automatically Appended Next Post: heartserenade wrote:I think it's also possible to get another Knight and paint it like a Montesa. A Hospitaller or a Santiago will work, or even an Equestrian order.

That's an option, but they all seem to have their own 'look'. The armour is subtly different between the orders, and the Montesa knight armour is the one that really struck me.
I think my best option would be to grab the PanO spec ops, and use the Spitfire from the weapons he comes with. Just chop the Combi off, and attach the Spitfire.

As a side note, and sorry to highjack the thread here Loki, but does anyone know if the Montessa Knight is usable in the standard Knightly Order army list?
I used to think it was, but then the new list printed in Paradiso seems not to show them - I bought the Montessa Knight model to possibly start off a new force as I loved the model, but I may have possibly been a dumbass by buying something I can't use!
