I just noticed something in the DA army list section. For Company Veteran and Black Knight squads it states that "for each full [3 or 5 models]" 1 specialist weapon may be taken, for example a ravenwing GL or a plasma gun for the vets. For Deathwing squads it just says " for every 5 models". Is there a technical difference between these two types of statement, or is it sinple variability of language? For example, for the Deathwing does it indicate that you round up and therefore unlock a second heavy weapon on purchasing only 1 additional terminator in the squad? I would suspect not and its just variability, but interested in other points of view.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The key is "for every 5", therefore in the deathwing example you get one for 5 models, to get another you need another 5 models

I had hoped with the sonic weapon issues in CSM that they would have figured out that the community has issues understanding what "for every x models" means and instead rephrase everything to be "for each full x models".

Based on other FAQ rulings etc "for every x models" means that you have to have a full division of X before being allowed to take that wargear.

For example, if X is 5 and you have 5 models, you get 1. When that unit has 10 models you get 2.

Agree that is the most logical interpretation. I was just interested in the different wording between squad entries.
