Hello,

So I've basecoated my first Iron Warrior unit with metallic spray paint (to save time and to see how it turns out). I liked the coverage but the end color is very shiny. It is almost Mithril Silver equivalent.

Now, I prefer my chaos space marines to look all dark and grimy and their armor to appear worn to reflect all the fighting they've been doing. Would it be sufficient to wash with Agrax Earthshade to darken the metal or should i recoat everything with Leadbelcher to cut my losses ? What do you guys think ?

A couple of coats of Agrax will probably do you fine. Possibly an Agrax/Nuln Oil mix.

I am currently taking commissions.

Just put a wash on it and I think you'll be ok to go. If you don't like the wash, maybe try a few washes instead of one dark wash.

One coat of Agrax, one of Nuln Oil. Nuln Oil makes it darker, Agrax Earthshade makes it dirtier.

For silver I'd go Nuln Oil.
