According to the rulebook under "Aegis defence line composition:" it says "up to 4 long and 4 short defence line sections"

now my question is does that mean that you dont have to take the whole defence line




e.g 3 long edges and 2 short edges

If you are planning on sticking a small squad and gun emplacement in there, the smaller the area the less likely an enemy model can deep strike in the area and deny cover from it.
